I didn't see this posted anywhere else, so I thought I would post it. On ESPN.com, they have the latest Bracketology up and low and behold, #19 Alabama is not in it!!!! How is it that a top 20 team is not in a field of the top 65 teams??? I'm a little confused.

Bracketology

Yes, a little strange especially since he doesn't list BAMA has one of the teams that's "not hot."

If the season ended now, BAMA would be in. But the way the team has struggled in SEC play, notwithstanding a good win at LSU, we need to finish with at least 20 -21 wins to get in, IMO. Hopefully the upcoming schedule should allow BAMA to go on a little run. The committee really looks at things like quality wins, strength of schedule, and most important to us right now the way a team is playing close to tourney time.

Yeah, 16-5, ranked 19, and an RPI of 26......with a SOS of 42.......and we're not in? He's just trying to make a point, I believe......

Let's see if Duke was 16-5, rpi of 26, sos of 42, ranked 10th (probably), they'd be a 4 seed

All about perceptions.......

He doesn't think much of our ability to successfully navigate our remaining schedule. All we've got to do is hannel our bidness and we'll be okay. If we don't then we don't deserve to be in anyway.

This bracket was completed before the road win at LSU and the home win against South Carolina. That would be about the same time that a few people on the basketball board(myself included) were beginning to wonder if we might be an NIT team rather than an NCAA team. Based on our previous three SEC road games, I can understand why Lunardi had reason to believe we would lose at LSU. I suspect we will be in his new bracket on Wednesday.

We are not in according to my ranking system.Any team with 100 or higher always gets in. It hasnt failed in over 20 years.

CajunCrimson, if you dont like it dont read it. Cant share all the info that goes in, but we need to beat some teams on top of the standings not the bottom dwellers of LSU and SC.

Not to sound stupid but how can two teams that we've beaten have a higher score than us?

The ratings might be better received if you keep them contained to just one thread. Just a suggestion...

Or maybe talking about the derivation...
This was your previous explanation, "Margin of victory, location, opponent strength." Why is margin of victory important? How do you determine opponent strength?
Or showing your numbers for this weeks top 25...
Or maybe telling us how many teams over the past 20 years didn't have a 100 and made the tourney...

Well, RPI has us 26th in the country, and you have us 11th in our own conference........so, either the SEC is tremendously strong this year, or perhaps you are overweighting the Margin of Victory in your formula.....

AND like I said before......margin of victory is NOT a useful tool because it doesn't always indicate the actual game.........

AND like I said earlier, you've already shared your formula with us......... thank you
