  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. Here is a question leading up to "A-Day" -

Outside of the obvious answers of "The Bear" and "Winning," what are your favorite Alabama Football traditions? I not asking about your personal tailgating traditions, but rather traditions such as "Kick Off on the Quad" or the Capstone Men & Women lining the team's entrance with our championship banners.

I am just curious as to what you associate as widely accepted Alabama Football Traditions and which one you enjoy/look forward to each fall.

Roll Tide!

It's Simple

"I don't know if I'll ever get tired of football. One time I thought I might. . . I was out there on the practice field wondering whether football had passed me by. Then I heard the Million Dollar Band playing over on the practice field. When they started playing 'Yea, Alabama,' I got goosebumps all over me.

Bama Traditions

Oh my gosh -- where to begin? :BigA:

Walking the Quad & Strip before game time. Love to see & visit with tailgaters.

Hearing the MDB play "Yea Alabama" for the first time on gameday (it always gives me the chills!)

Hearing Coach Bryant's voice on the Jumbotron.

Looking around the stadium and seeing nothing but crimson and houndstooth hats.

Heck, I'm a happy camper to see the city limit sign for "Tuscaloosa, AL"! :D

I could go on & on, but I'll leave room for everyone else! :BigA:

For me it's definitely...

taking my seat in the stadium and seeing the sea of red at BDS. WOW! I went to Bama for seven years including grad school and watche two games. Once I graduated a new friend and fellow alumuns asked me over to watch a game on TV since we were both "stranded" here in South Carolina. Thus was the start of a new me. I enjoyed it so much I starteddriving 6 hrs home on Friday, buying tickets on game day 3-4 times a season. Last year was my inaugural Tide Pride season and I am HOOKED!
My wife doesn't like football at all but loves the atmosphere and hearing CPB before every game and the energy he gives the crowd. I can't wait to start taking my daughter with me in a few years. I'm sure she'll love it like her old man!

Rammer Jammer!

How could you leave out "Rammer Jammer!" So many schools are envious of Rammer Jammer. Let's hope we hear it loud and often next year!

on gameday, it is a requirement of mine to watch the drumline warm up under Denny Chimes....the best part of the gameday experience for me is standing there when they start the drumroll for "Yea, Alabama!" and hearing the other sections of the band playing at the same time, each in a different section in the quad....it's just cool

Walking around and checking out the Vendors and pleading with Mama for some cash. Also we go to Huntsville every other spring break and stay a couple of days so we can restock....And that means April 4th, 5th & 6th I'll be heading down to do just that.

Wearing my lucky Bama shirt and my lucky Bama underwear. ;)

When at the stadium, I try to buy a Bama item from the vendors on the street for good luck. I didn't the last time, and Bama lost to Arkansas in OT.

I also try to buy a little something that I don't need from one of the vendors.

Beating Auburn. I remember in 1961, Auburn was proclaimed as the cleanest football team in the country, because they had been whitewashed by the TIDE for 3 years in a row.
