OK, I haven't started a thread on the FB board in awhile (and don't look for many in the future), but this is a fun topic and might get some interesting details shared:

Of all of the Alabama games you have attended in person, which one was your favorite?

I'm gonna go with the 2016 Aggie game at BDS. Now - for those who weren't there - the plumbing in the stadium went out, although if I go to the bathroom INSIDE the stadium then trust me, it's because I had no choice and couldn't wait.

But probably the greatest moment I ever experienced IN PERSON was when Jonathan Allen returned that fumble for the TD that pretty much sealed the game. Never have I been so scared in my life at a sporting event - because the thunder from the fans cheering caused the concrete to shake underneath me, it feel kinda like an earthquake. It was simultaneously exhilarating and frightening until it died down enough to just be incredible.

Incidentally, most of my trips to Alabama games have had some sort of glitch involved.
The plumbing not working - for me - was one of the least of my worries.

Freezing when the stands emptied at halftime of the 2012 MSU game was something different, though.

My two favorite weren't necessarily both great games but are my favorites because of who I was able to attend them with. The 1973 Iron bowl was a 35-0 blow-out (I love blow-outs!) that my Dad and Granddad took me to see.

I was able to get tickets and take my Dad for his birthday to the 1986 Notre Dame game. That was a nice win and watching him have so much fun made it special to me. I will never forget him scanning the field with his binoculars and marvelling over the size of the Irish offensive linemen as they walked onto the sidelines. Biscuit'***** was epic! Had fun telling my dad stories about how I met Bennett at Harry's bar, haha!

1991 - Bama at LSU

I was 13 and it was my 1st game in person and the tailgating experience was amazing.

Then the game started with a bang with the Deuce taking a punt around the 10-12 yard line and taking it to the house for a TD

I lost my little mind on that one…lol

Then after a getting a big lead at half we had to hang on in the 2nd half.

LSU lined up for a late 4th qtr chip shot FG to take the lead and Antonio London blocked it.

The next series Kevin Turner broke off a huge run all the way to LSU’s 10 yard line or so to ice the game as we ran out the clock.

I was on cloud nine all the way home.

2008 Iron Bowl. It was rainy during the morning, but it cleared up before game time. My brother and I were literally on the highest row in the stadium, but it didn’t matter. It was a great day.
Oh man you saw a good one.

Whipped their butts and then Gmac comes in to throw a Dagger TD to Maze to rub it in…lol

Good Times.

This is it for me. I'll always remember the people that printed the "I was there" bumper stickers at Legion Field and seeing several hundred they'd printed with the score AU 23-Bama 22 lying on the ground :ROFLMAO:

The 1993 Sugar Bowl National Championship: Miami VS Alabama.

Electric!

Funny/sad story on this one:

My (now) ex-wife and I had been married about 19 months when this game was played. And I was stationed at Keesler AFB, not too awful far from New Orleans. And although we made VERY LITTLE money (I was an E-3, so my SALARY was $815/month plus housing and about $206 for BAS back then, so...a little over $12K per year, and she made about $20K per year maybe.

She offered - OFFERED - that this was an important thing, that we had no kids and this chance might never come again, and IF I WANTED TO GO, she was willing to put it on the credit card (we had virtually no debt back then....my things changed....) and go with me and share the experience.

I chickened out, mostly because I felt the odds of Alabama winning the game were VERY TINY. I mean, folks thought we were getting a break only being about 8 point underdogs.

- Miami had beaten us in 1989
- Miami had won 29 games in a row
- Miami was trying to win their 5th title in 10 years
- Alabama "plays in the one dimensional, run oriented SEC, notice Florida who passes almost won"

To give folks a parallel, this is basically like saying if we had beaten Clemson in 2016 and were playing them again in 2018 (going for 4 in a row and EIGHT for Saban at Alabama), I was a Clemson fan and we'd go. No Clemson fan in that scenario would have gone (as they would have been 0-3 against us in the previous three years).

It's one of my regrets - I could have been there.

In person would have to be either the 2005 uf game or the 2009 Tenn game. Both times it was so loud it was just a high pitched hum and I got real dizzy haha Tenn game the bench actually bent so I guess that’s the kicker to take it over the top

'61, 9-0 over Tulane, Ladd Stadium, Mobile. What makes it a favorite over so many others? To me it was my first game to attend. Thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Trammell, Fracchia, Brooker, Neighbors, Lee Roy, and on and on. It was a surreal experience for a 15 year old who idolized the Tide.
