re: Gators get a commitment from FB Hunter Joyer

A lot of options.
Jalston Fowler was a fullback, about the same size, and he ended up at LB. Who knows if this kid will end up at LB too.
Maybe they are bringing him in strictly with the intent of a short yardage back, like Tebow has been.
I doubt they change their playbook for this kid.

Number 6 rated FB in the nation and this is his offer list. Typical ESPN...

The 5-11, 250-pound Joyer is ranked by ESPN as the country's No. 6 fullback prospect. He was also recruited by Connecticut, Louisville, Minnesota, South Florida, Stanford and Texas A&M.

Rivals has him as the #1 FB in the country and Scout #3. I have no problem w/ this pick up by UF. Everyone should have someone to pound the ball in short yardage situations whether they know it or not. Meyer needs someone like that desperately to take over for the loss of Tebow. Decent pick-up IMO.

He could just be putting in like an H-back into his spread kinda like Auburn does on occasion... I don't think this is a sign Urban's shifting to the I formation any time soon....

Joyner is supposedly a great blocker and has good hands coming out of the backfield. He bench presses close to 500lbs so he is very strong.
