Rivals.com Basketball Recruiting - UK rebuilds roster with elite talent

This is about where I figured we would be. The top three or four just had better classes and LSU's ahead of us because they signed 5 and we signed 4.

I do think Coach Grant can do better, he's already doing better with the 2011 class so far, but at times it seemed like some Alabama fans thought we had the worst class in the SEC. This was a solid class.

It would have helped if our two transfer guys hadn't waited so long obviously. But with this class and the great start to our 2011 class I think there are some good signs.

I'm not disappointed at all in what we signed. I think we need to realize that Calipari's signees are looking for "one and done" college careers and he is noted for getting those types of players. It doesn't really matter to me about getting in-state talent. I'm actually looking forward to getting into the talent pool from Florida, Texas and California (Maybe).

After all of the commotion about AUs momentum and the recruits we 'missed' on, I felt we were worse off than the rankings indicated. I would be interested in how these ranking shake out after the academic elgibility of all the players is determined. But I think Coach Grant is off to a solid start with his first class, and next years looks even better. Seems like he should be able to offer some playing time to a talented frontcourt player, hope the big guy in B'ham is paying attention.
