I have noticed recently with our wins and particularly since the Florida game that I see more and more Bama flags on vehicles, bama caps, shirts, and various other indicators of Bama fans. I always think the same thing.....where y'all been. It's easy when we are undefeated to wear the crimson colors, but wear them when we need the support as well, as many of us have.

I got one more rant to get off my mind, sorry about that NCAA and fat phil, you tried but no cigar....were back and were po'ed.

I don't see this at all. Bama fans put it on display all the time win or lose. That's the difference in actually having pride and a winning tradition and wishing you had a winning tradition.

e.g. check out the Auburn fans, that's a different story - last year was all flags, giant helmet magnets, etc, etc... One loss, and it all disappears as if being an Aubie is their deep dark secret (which it should be). Personally, I kinda like how they disappear into the woodwork after losing. :D

I haven't noticed this either, I have always seen flags, hats, shirts, etc. whether Bama was up or down.

Speaking of this, my wife and I are in the Gatlinburg area almost every year the weekend of the AL/TENN game and we see Bama stuff win or lose. My family was up there one year when Auburn was in town to play TENN. There were Barners everywhere on Friday night before the game. Saturday night, after they lost, they had vanished. Nothing but Tenn orange to be seen anywhere.

auburn has always been that way. When they are losing you never see any aubies. But when they are winning they come out of the woodshed and you suddenly see aubies everywhere. Being a Bama fan has nothing to do with winning and losing. I love to see Bama win, but I am a Bama fan whether they win or lose. You can always find the "true" fans of a team when the team is at its lowest.

I agree that Bama has many many true fans that support the Tide and have done so through the dark times. However, I have noticed people flying the colors this last week that previously didn't. Maybe this is just a local thing but it is apparent here. Now, I welcome them as fans with open arms, but I also expect them to stick around if we lose. Someone mentioned the fair weather barners, they are definitely the worst and I guess that is what caused me to notice the increase in our fans.

I intend to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they are just proud of the team and decided to fly the colors in support more than in the past.

I Really,

I really am not a Hugh Cowboy fan here in Texas. I've always been an Oiler/Texan fan. I have always thought, however, that the Cowboy fans were a lot like Bama fans. They are committed 100% to their team. The only difference I see is that when we are having a down year we know it, we ball up and admit it and say we will be back soon. The Cowboys can be 3-10 and still think they are going to the Super Bowl. :) Whawoo Home run Birkman, Sorry Brave fans :)
