Florida fans keep asking me about playing them in the SEC Championship game

It happened twice yesterday and once already this morning. I always wear my Alabama hat when I go out, when you live in Florida and lack production from your hair follicles it is a wise thing to do. Anyway, as I was gassing up my car the guy next to me said, "Hey Bama, can't wait to play you guys in the SEC championship this year." I looked over at him in his gator t-shirt and hat and said, "Yeah, that would be nice." I finished up and drove to Sam's to do a little pre-game food shopping. Inside another gator fan came up to me and said, "I hope we play you guys in the SEC championship, cause we owe you one." I replied, "Well, you have a tough game tomorrow. If you get passed them, it's Georgia next week." This guy looked at me and said, "If we beat South Carolina and Georgia, we'll be number 1 in the polls."
This morning in my gym, (no hat but most people know I'm a Alabama fan) gator friend comes up and says, "I can't wait to play Bama in the SEC Championship game." And then he asked, "Do you think Bama can beat LSU again?" I said, "I do, but the game is played on the field and what me or you think won't make a difference." "So, he smiled as he said this, does that mean you're worried?" My reply was, "I always worry."
What in the world has got into these gator fans? Will they never learn? I have some great friends who are gator fans and I respect them and their opinions. But all of a sudden those fans who hid last year are out this year and ready to talk trash. It will only get worse if they do beat South Carolina and Georgia. Now, the gators have made a great turn-a-round from last year and second place in the BCS poll has gone to their heads BUT (and that's a big but), it's still a long way to go till the SEC Championship game and anything can and will happen. I wish them luck and for the record, I really do hope we play them in the SEC Championship game.

My guess is there's some envy that Urban left them high and dry and now suddenly has the best ineligible team in America. They didn't
exactly set the world on fire the last two seasons. Besides - they're 4-3 against us in the SECCG, so don't we owe THEM one?

Our wins were nice in 2010 and 2011, but they don't compare to winning the SEC title in a head-to-head with them.

We would hammer Florida in the SECCG. I would love to play them in that game.

I think UGA and USCe would be a much tougher games for us, given their balance on O. All three teams play very solid defense at times, but Florida's O would get mauled by us.

Believe me, I feel your pain.

At the beginning of the year they wouldn't hardly speak to me, but now they seek me out "to talk" whenever I go into the office.

Before we played them last year they were so confident they were going to run all over us and I just smiled at them.

Silly gators.

I think they are doing fine without Urban. Will has them humming, especially now that aTm win looks pretty good.

Gator fans always come out to play (or talk) when they are winning; most fair-weather fans in college football. Every single one of them claims to be a "life-long gator fan" but ask him who their coach was before Spurrier and then you get to enjoy watching his brain pop out of his toothless head. But I agree with them in their hopes that we play them in the SECCG!
