Plus Florida in the 80’s was torpedoed because Dooley basically pulled a Phil Fulmer and turned them in because he knew he couldn’t compete with their resources. Florida in 1984 could have made a legitimate claim for a NC had the NCAA not vacated wins.
Arkansas has been trying to get Gus since 2017. I think if Arkansas goes belly up this year then Gus gets a huge offer to come home.
I think Golish will wind up big at some point but right now I think Florida has to find someone with some experience as a P5 HC.
It maybe more of a dream job kind of opportunity for him. Otherwise I think Gus may just live the rest of his coaching career at UCFDoes Gus really want to be back in the SEC again???

So did Mac and so did Napier to many. So did Scott Frost. Hiring an unproven upstart is a huge gamble at a top tier program.

Kiffin's daughter is a sophomore at Ole Miss. He isn't going anywhere for at least 3 more years.
