I don't recall Coach Shula throwing any interceptions or having any stupid penaltys called on him last night. If you have been around sports long enough games sometimes go South and nothing you do can stop it. Do you think that Coach Shula and his boys are going to give up as easily as some of you good folks? We have several chances to play spoiler this year and I think we can do it !
FOUR THINGS YOU BETTER DO ...
You better stop whining...
You better remember how bad it has been the past few years...
You better get behind your young coach and his very young team...
You better remember where your heart is...
ROLL TIDE ANYWAY ...

Perhaps Shula should remember 4 things...

 1. The HEAD COACH should never give up on his team (as he did last night).

2. Shula should remember when you are playing at home against another SEC team, you never give up.

3. With 6 minutes on the clock in your own stadium down by 17, you don't run on 3 straight plays and punt.

4. YOU NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR TEAM IF YOU WANT THEM TO GIVE 100%...

That is what Shula should remember... The fans who watched him give up will remember...

I give up !There are some great posters with equally good insights that no longer post here. Thanks for reminding me why. This isn't the same place that it used to be.I think a posters age should be part of their profile. Seems the average age around here is closer to 15 than 50.

I dont remember Dubose doing any of these things either.Do you think he got screwed when he was fired?Sounds like your throwing all the blame on the QB's and anyone who got a penalty. It's just a fact in football,or any sports,it's easier to fire the coach than the whole team.Maybe we need to start a "Bring Back Dubose".com.I don't think Shula should be blamed for the results of the game just the execution.A loss is always going to suck but thats part of it but poor execution is not exceptable to me.

I don't understand blaming the coach for poor execution.

I've taught people to do specific jobs before. I know you can drill, and drill and drill, and they will still turn around and get it wrong in clutch situtations. Does that always mean the person teaching them is responsible, or a bad teacher? When does some of the responsibility fall to the learner. Sometimes people (especially 18-21 year olds) don't do what you've taught them to do for various reasons.

The constant moaning and gnashing of teeth on this, and other boards, whenever things don't go right, isn't ACCEPTABLE to me either, but I doubt I'm going to be able to do anything about it.

Hey there Panabama... I did not reallize that you still posted here. After the 2000 season, I had to quit posting on here. It seemed as though fans would just throw there rants on to the screen without any thought to the consequence. No thought process.... just pure emotion. I miss SacGator, The Tusk, and many others. They always had that way of posting concisive thoughts that would soothe the angry mob. I have a hard time coming on to Tidefans after losses. I don't listen to Paul Finebaum for a reason. But somehow those same folks have found a computer and figured out to post here.

Whoah, Agony, despair..... If only the coach, team, assistant coach and/ or the fans would do what I want them to do, the University of Alabama would be undefeated!

LOL That is pretty funny. You should post JOKES more often. LOL

Thanks for the laugh.

My heart is in Alabama and I remember . RTR..
Pana, your heart is absolutely in the right place and I think we all want the same thing around here (continued progress and, ultimately, more wins). It's just that people have differing ideas about how to get there from where we are and people react differently to losses. Some are going to vent and question certain decisions and people. Others choose to rally around the troops and hunker down. The good things is that nothing said here will tangibly impact what happened.

I'd love to pound my pulpit (if I had one!) and plead for patience from everyone, but everyone has their own opinions and I'll respect them. Once we start winning again, everybody will be on the same page.

It might be good for you to take into consideration that everybody doesn't see things the way you do and they aren't "wrong" for not doing so. I think it was quite obvious Saturday night that there are some issues that need to be fixed and fixed fast. There are some things that you can live with until they get fixed. But some of the things that happened Saturday night you don't tolerate very long at all. Now you might not agree and that is fine.

But not everybody copes by posting warm fuzzy feel good posts. Some folks just cut through the bullcrap and start pointing out things they see wrong. Nothing wrong with that.

Rob, I've spilled my guts out on this board about things that are so much more important than football. My mom dying. Fighting cancer. It breaks my heart to see all of this second guessing . I LOVE ALABAMA !!!!!

Buzzard' I'm not one for the Warm & Fuzzies! But, I FEEL THAT IT'S TIME TO RALLY AROUND THE TROUPS! What's the alternative? Throw up your hands and give up. Winners never quit. Quitters never win!

You are 100% right that there are many more important things in life than a game. No more matter what happens on the field, we still have the realities of life. Football should be that great escape, two or three hours wrapped up in something that removes us from the struggles we face. When attitudes turn bitter, it does take a measure of the joy out. Please know that your mother and your family are in my prayers.

Hate to hear all that bad news but the fans have a right to vent. They love bama just as much as you do, everyone is just mad right now at Shula it will blow over soon. ;)

The bad news happened several years ago.I gleaned a lot of strength from members of this board . We can second guess our coaches to the umptheenth degree, but in the end , the only thing that we can do,the common Bama football fan, is to support our team ! Everyone else be damned! rtr...

There has to be a happy median. To sit there and think that it is some how "wrong" for some one to point out a legitimate problem is simply narrow minded.

For example, if Coach X of Team Y consistently pulls his star running back out in the third quarter (irregardless of the state of the game) just because he feels "it's the right thing to do" you mean to tell me that the fans of that team shouldn't complain? They should just sit there and "rally around the troops"? I don't think so.

Now I used an extreme situation to prove a point. But to me as long as the criticism has substance and is civil then I see no problem with it. It brings good debate and discussion.

Football is not a game of happy medians. Mike Shula played football for Bama. He is our Head Coach. If you choose not to support him,so be it . We all make choices. I choose to support Coach Shula . RTR...

Good grief fella. Just because someone is critical of someone doesn't mean they don't support them. Why don't start a thread or tell everyone you hear that says anything critical about Coach Shula that they don't support him and see what kind of response you get. Let me know how it goes.
