The split-squad World Series concludes on Saturday at Sewell-Thomas Stadium

TUSCALOOSA, AL – Alabama baseball opened its Fall World Series on Friday, as Team Gray leaned on late power to stamp a 5-3 win over Team Crimson. In a 3-3 game, Coleman Mizell led off the 7th with a solo home run to break the tie. An inning later, Justin Lebron launched a solo shot of his own, creating the eventual 5-3 score. Mizell finished 1-2 with a pair of walks, while Lebron's night closed with a 2-4 line, adding a single.
Andre Modugno aided Team Gray's offense by lining a two-run single in the 4th as part of a three-run frame. Brady Neal's RBI single earlier in the inning kick-started Team Gray's rally. The freshmen arms were vital for the winning dugout, as Jack Ketchum and Anthony Pesci combined to toss 5.1 scoreless innings.
For Team Crimson, Brennen Norton and Bryce Fowler each produced multi-hit nights. Norton's two-out, two-run single in the 6th leveled the game at 3-3. Ahmaad Duff's sacrifice fly in the 2nd produced the game's first run. Tate Robertson was given the start for Team Crimson, with the lefty allowing just one hit over 3.1 scoreless innings.
The Fall World Series finale is set for 1:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, November 2 at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
Admission to Alabama baseball's Fall World Series is free to the public. Gates will open each day approximately an hour prior to the start of the day's activity. Fans are asked to enter Sewell-Thomas Stadium through the main gate (Gate 3) located directly behind home plate. Once inside, fans are to stay in the lower bowl seating area with access to the upper levels of the stadium strictly prohibited.
