Grilled Tuna Salad

Just wanted to share a recipe with you guys that I usually make during the summer time...always puts a smile on my face and its quick and easy

Grilled Tuna Salad

(2) 8oz Fresh Yellowfin Tuna Steaks
3 eggs
1 stalk celery
1 tablespoon Dill Pickle Relish
1-2 tablespoons to taste Cavender's Greek Seasoning
1/2 cup Mayonaise

Grill Tuna steaks well done. ( I know, I know...its hard for me to cook this beautiful fish this well done, but its best for the salad, trust me). Let the fish cool in refrigerator. Flake into small pieces. Boil eggs until done, roughly chop. Rough chop celery. Add all ingredients and stir. You can use more or less seasoning to taste. Refrigerate overnight.

Serve on any type of bread for sandwiches. I prefer croissants or sourdough. Also a great dip with crackers for parties.

I don't know how hard it is to get fresh yellowfin tuna in other parts of the country, but I have made it with canned tuna and its ok...but that fresh Yellowfin is the real kicker.

I hate to brag but when the yellowfin are running it's about a 45 min boat ride to where we catch them.

I haven't tried that Greek seasoning but sounds interesting. Have you ever tried diced apple in your tuna salad? If not you should. ;)

Love that tuna salad.

You can get that Greek Seasoning most anywhere that I've found. I usually use it in my tuna and chicken salads. And as the seasoning on my Feta Cheese stuffed burgers. Very versatile, and a break from the normal seasoning salts that I think get overused a lot...

Not a big fan of fruit in my tuna/chicken salad for some reason. But I can see where the apples or maybe pears would be good in it for those of us who like those types of things. That's the beauty of chicken and tuna salad, it is so versatile and many different ways to make it.

By the way, when we goin fishin? ha

I sold my 45' Sport and bought a 29' CC with twin outboards. It's more manageable for me and the fuel isn't eating me alive. Fuel for the 45' was measured in gallons per mile. I live on Martinique Island in the Lesser Antilles, the fishing has been pretty good last week. I usually sell most of my catch at the dock to pay for my fuel but sometimes I use it to buy shrimp, oysters, conch or lobster.
