In Alabama off "highway59"
It will more than likely be Leach that gets the job. I read somewhere that he has a close relationship with a Kevin Plank, who sits on BoT at Maryland, and who I gather also runs Under Armour. Probably all got to looking at appearances and have mounted a bogus search to put thing in a better light that they looked for and got the right guy. But if legit offer is made to Malzahn, you have to believe he takes it.

Didn't you also say nothing would happen to USC? ;)
There you go again Rich, letting facts stand in the way of a good post. Yes, I did say nothing would happen to USC, and I was wrong, as usual, but this time I think I am on the right track (maybe) oh what the hell do I know:conf2:

From Sports by Brooks: heard from some that would likely be on Leach's staff at Maryland that Malzahn is close to landing it if he hasn't already.
Here's the link to his Twitter feed.

I found this on a NBCSports website. Check out the last one:

  1. edgy says: Dec 29, 2010 3:11 PM Did someone test the dress to find out if there was contact?

  2. tryagainplease says: Dec 29, 2010 4:26 PM hmm, i guess ‘possibilities of contact’ is the new ‘i didn’t know’- kids and their slang.

  3. blitz4848 says: Dec 29, 2010 7:17 PM Malzahn is a Terp……for better or worse…..

I disagree with those who think Maryland is on (sub)par with Vanderbilt. For one, as one poster pointed out, there are no other competitive DI schools in the area, so recruiting shouldn't be too difficult. Two, the ACC is an AQ conference with a much easier road to a conference championship (and thus an automatic BCS berth) than the SEC. In fact, I'd argue that it would be easier to get Maryland to a BCS game than it would to get MSU or Ole Miss....or USCe for that matter. Basically, beat FSU and you're in the conference championship. Three it's a public school. Even though they probably still have better academic requirements than most of the SEC, I'm sure it's still easier to get in Maryland than Vanderbilt. Plus, I read they were offering June Jones 3.5 mil...

This guy might be Maryland's Lowder. Sounds like he's got the money.

it will be Malzahn TO THE TERPS !!!!! 3.8 million he will coach the national championship game at ALL-BURN
If I'm paying 3.8M, I would want him to find out how much money is in the secret slush fund and hit the recruiting trail tomorrow morning. I know he wants to coach the championship game, but if he works for me, well, he works for me and not splitting time. I would expect him to be looking for the next, Tebow or Cam Newton to run that dipsy doodle offense because that offense revolves around a certain type of QB play.

I'm funny like that, either you are a Terp or a War Eagle, if he does both he is a Twerp Eagle.;)

But we don't know if he has even been offered the job so my thoughts are a bit premature.

To me he is CRAZY if he doesnt leave this year. All these BCS jobs coming open and he's slipping. One bad year on the farm and they'll pack his stuff up like Tony Franklin.
