Yep, moved there when I was 5. My mother still lives there. I went to Southeastern Elementary, and I graduated from Oneonta High School. I have heard that Palmer story my entire life. When asked in the 8th where did I see myself 10 years after high school, I said not here and I would be living in another state within 5 years. I moved to Marietta, Georgia 4 years after high school. I beat my goal by 1 year.

I've been through there many hundreds of times. Spent a ton of time in Oneonta; had family from there. Own-EEE-Owna.

My Dad's family was from Blount County - Hayden area. I've got some great, gg, and ggg grandparents buried at a couple of cemeteries along highway 160

My maternal great grandparents are buried at Nectar Methodist Church on hwy 160. Been to many decorations there in my youth.

The story i heard was the two Palmer brothers owned adjacent land in Jefferson and Blount Counties. One brother named the area where he lived Palmerdale and the other, to avoid confusion if he named his area “Palmer” decided to name it Remlap (Palmer backwards).

Another story revolves around two stops the railroad had in the area- one being Palmerdale and the other was nameless. They started calling the unnamed stop “Remlap” - Palmer backwards - and the name stuck.

If the affair rumors are false then Harsin if he is smart will stand pat and force auburn to negotiate. I don’t see them being able to fire him with cause over the other allegations.

Again False and with little concrete evidence are two different things. It’s more likely the latter than the former. But again it’s not the real smoking gun that they are using. It’s just the one people are running with because it’s far more juicy than what is being kept under wraps. Everyone loves a good sex scandal story and that’s why it’s being put in the forefront.
