Is there a site that has all the updates for Tide Totals rules?
FYI,
Look out for correction emails from the ticket office. I think emails may have been sent to folks that should have received tickets stating they did not get their order filled.
Hopefully more on this board will receive good news tonight!
I have over 230 and don't get them either. Are Tide Pride and Tide Totals different entities?
Official note I am like a few other my points total is 240, so I think I'm going to get them? anyone have a sweat towel?
Dear Crimson Tide Fan,
BCS Championship ticket requests exceeded the allotment the University of Alabama received, thus your request for BCS Championship tickets could not be filled based off Tide Totals priority points.
As stated on the 2009 Bowl Ticket/SEC Order form: "If orders received exceed the University allotment, refunds will be issued by priority points." After all BCS ticket requests were submitted, individual accounts were sorted by point total (highest to lowest). Requests by Tide Pride members were filled in point order until the allotment was exhausted. Individuals with 230 points or more received BCS Championship tickets. If you submitted a credit card with your request, your card has not been charged. If you submitted cash or check with your request, you will soon receive a refund from the Alabama Ticket Office.
SOL email for me. 10 years of Tide Pride and I cant get BCS game tix. Weird since I got Sugar Bowl last year. Im so confused. This Tide Totals stuff is crap!
Well since I booked a flight and a hotel I guess someone will be making alot of money off me to get my game tix. Thanks UA!
I'm right there with you. Been in TP since 1998 - a year after I graduated.
I just can't see a real benefit to ponying out $2K a year anymore when there is no hope for SEC or big-time bowl tix.
The thing that particularly sucks about Tide Totals is it takes into account the total amount of $$ you give the Athletic Department - including other sports like basketball, baseball, etc., which is totally unfair to those of us who can't throw ridiculous amounts to UA, or buy tickets for other events when we live out of state. It costs an arm and leg just to make it to Tuscaloosa for 6 or 7 football games each year.
They need to fix this. Its BS! TP since 2000, and I was able to get Sugar last year but not BCS this year. I'm also not eligible for SECCG. Something is wrong here. How about allowing 2-4 per donor. I saw where the highest level could get 8. Thats ridiculous. Allow more fans to go, not only the select few.
I agree on the second part. I live in Atlanta and I drive over for every home game. I spend my money on campus. I cant participate in every sport. And I cant donate hundreds of thousands just so I can goto the big bowls. I suffered through the Independence and Music City Bowls. Surely I thought I would be rewarded with a trip to Pasadena. NOPE!
But hey they will never change it. There is a waiting list of people to take our place. Oh well they get their money and we get left out. Thanks UA!
I remember back during the final year of the Mike DuBose debacle, I was actually able to move from the upper east deck down to the lower bowl on the 45 yard line (same level - Touchdown Club) because so many people were bailing out of Tide Pride. Went from nosebleeds to preeemo seats at no additional cost. Suddenly the waiting list is a mile long (and Tide Totals was created.)
Supply and demand, I guess.
But nobody can ever preach to me about selling excess tickets for a profit as if I am doing a disservice to the Bama "family."
There is still the possibility for Ticketmaster on the 15th if my fingers and computer can move quick enough. :frown:
They need to allow some of us low lifes access to tickets.
Dear Crimson Tide Fan,
The Unversity of Alabama Ticket Office was able to fill BCS Championship requests to those Tide Pride members whose priority point total fell between 147 and 229 points. As a result, you will be receiving 2 BCS Championship tickets. Each ticket is $200. If you submitted a credit card with your request it has been charged accordingly.
Tickets will be shipped via UPS Next Day delivery with signature required. The first delivery attempt will be on Monday, December 21st. Once packages have been scanned in by UPS, you wll receive an email with your tracking number. You may contact your local UPS facility with your tracking number to arrange pick-up at that facility rather than have your tickets delivered. If tickets are not delivered by Wednesday, December 23rd, your package will be held at your local UPS facility for 5 business days. If your package is not picked up during that time, it will be returned to the Alabama Ticket Office and held at will call.
ok, pinch me. We received this email this morning... Am I dreaming?
