That's a great picture of Henry. It looks like he has a more traditional haircut which in my opinion, improves his general appearance.

This is not a big issue with me, I wore longer hair when I was young. But I was thinking this morning, Julio used to wear dreads, then went with a closer haircut. I still remember when I cut mine back, what a relief it was to get some air on the back of my neck. I think it would be a step in the right direction if more players from Bama followed Julio's example not just with rigorous dedication to working out, and being as good as possible, but also followed Julio's decision to wear a tighter haircut.

Either way, I'm a big Henry fan. I'm not trying to criticize his hairdo, I'm just saying I prefer Julio's.

It looks to me his hair is the same as it has been the whole year. You just can't see his ponytail because it is a straight-on shot. A friend of mine that does hair told me nowadays, hairdressers and barbers start the dreads about a half-inch back from the hairline to prevent the stress the tight hairdo has on that area. That's why you can see his natural hairline and don't really see the beginning on his dreads from this angle. Julio's decision to cut his off may have been (but very well could have been) less about "looking presentable" and more about his hairline receding faster than it would without those tight dreads pulling at his hairline. Not everyone who has that hair style has that problem, though.

Just finished watching Championship Dr and Joey Galloway was on there. Guess who he said was the most dynamic player in the US? McCaffey. So I'm guessing his vote didn't go to Henry. Bama could have a guy run for 3000 yards or throw for 10k with 100 td's and he wouldn't give his vote to a Bama player.

Spot on. It is a common trend now especially with black men who chose to go that route. I had corn rows back in the day and it caused my hairline to go a lot quicker than what it should have. Now I am one who shaves it all clean off.

So, Derrick has won two SEC championships, been named the SEC offensive player of the year, broke the single-season SEC rushing record, tied the TD single-season record, won the Doak Walker Award, the Maxwell Award, the Walter Camp Award.

If he brings home the Heisman, in addition to leading our beloved Tide to the National Championship, wouldn't he easily be considered the most decorated player in Crimson Tide history?

Thoughts? I know Barrett Jones would deserve an honorable mention.

In another era, he would come back and do it all again next year.

For numbers of awards and achievements, I`m not sure he isn`t already.

He belongs on the Mt. Rushmore of SEC RB's with Bo & Herschel. They've had that 3rd spot vacant and waiting for 30 years.

Hard to argue that they`re not the three best in the history of the conference to date.

These so called experts at ESPN .. this was their picks for Heisman just after the Auburn game. Now post Florida, McCaffrey is all of a sudden the favorite?? I can see why Henry only rushing for 189 yd and 1 TD would highly diminish his chances... lol

Well .. cannot seem to get the image to upload. Basically shows Henry in 1st by a large margin, with McCaffrey in 3rd.

Just remember that the majority of votes were sent in before the championship games, I think some one earlier in the thread said around 80-85% of the votes were already in before those games kicked off.

The only reason ESPN's tune changed was because they need the storyline, the "on the edge of you seat race" to get people to watch there stupid, boring, way to long, Heisman award show. Also, don't forget that this show has been expanded from 60 minutes to 90 minutes this year. No one would watch, except maybe Bama fans, if everyone already knew who the winner was going to be. They need the drama to get you to tune into one of the most boring 90 minutes of TV ESPN airs all year.

Sorry but, I can't stand ESPN's Heisman broadcast, never have. You only have to tune in for the last 10-15 minutes, the rest is fluff pieces and talking heads stroking their egos. I might tune in for the last half hour but there is no way I'm sitting there and watching 90 minutes of this junk.

The Mccaffrey talk isn't about what Henry didn't do. It's about what Mccaffrey did against USC. It's also about ESPN needing to manufacture hype to get viewers.
