I think the best odds are on Landry Jones. He's going to throw for 4000 yards and OU is going to be in the national championship hunt. Trent will need an Ingram year (1600+ yards) and an OU loss to win it IMO.

If we can get the passing game on track, it could provide enough balance
to open some big holes for Trent. No one has worked harder to get in position
for a run at the Heisman. Still, it all depends on winning as a team, super human effort,
and a little luck!

Not on the list, but an intriguing name to keep your eyes on is Russell Wilson at Wisconsin.

He's got name recognition from his stint at N.C. State and Wisconsin is good enough to run the table this season if they get a couple of breaks.

Plus, his early numbers: 76% completion percentage, 264 passing ypg, 8-1 TD to interception ratio and a 213.4 QB rating (good for second nationally). He's also run the ball 11 times for 110 yards and a TD. Granted, UW hasn't played anyone of note. But if they remain undefeated and he continues to flash those kind of numbers, he'll be in the discussion.

As far as Trent goes, he'll need to do what Mark did in 2009: blow it up statistically in the big games. This weekend would be a good start.

I think there are just too many other players out there who play cream puffs EVERY week who will rack up the yards, etc needed to win. It's unfortunate that our players, due to the fact that we are in the toughest conference in the country, don't have an equal shot (IMO) at this coveted award. It really SUCKs, but that's part of the price of TEAM greatness. As Bear said, we don't win Heisman's, we win Championships!!

No thanks, not interested in anything related to the hypeman trophy, aka the most overblown erroneously given award in all of sport.

Just interested in commented and making fun of it! :D ;) :D

You do realize the last three Heisman Trophies went to SEC players, right? Believe it or not, the SEC does get the credit it deserves from most people. Especially, since ESPN has a stake in the conference now.

No RGIII on the list. He has more touchdown passes (13) than incompletions and no interceptions. Trent stands a good chance if Bama plays for the NC.

Remember Ingram did not become a part of the Heisman talk until game 7 and TR continues to move up and do more each week. Not to mention the biggest games are still ahead of him. I expect a huge game from him this week in the Swamp.

Two things to remember this year for the Heisman. They seem to be pushing a QB this year. Before the season started they basically gave to Luck. But the other thing to remember it seems unless your team is undefeated and headed to the BCSNC your chances are not good. So out of that list maybe Landry is the only competition TR has to worry about if we play as expected or should. But in the end who cares if we win it all the way. Nothing better than destroying a team in the NC with the Heisman winner.
