Props to the young man - what an outstanding testament to your program. My 8th grade son thought the QB from Clemson would win and I thought McCaffrey would snag the Heisman. Mr. Henry gave a phenomenal speech at his acceptance.

Respect from a Spartan

It's a beautiful thing here in North Florida, aka Gator Country. All of the news stations are dedicating the overwhelming majority of their broadcasts to Henry winning the Heisman.

Hearty Congratulations to Derrick. I thought his speech was heartfelt and humble. I hope his Grandmother is ok (she's in the hospital) enough to have seen him win it on TV.

I have been a perpetual lurker for years, I love my Tide but haven't been active on this board. This is the first time I felt that I MUST post. Accolades of course for his ability, hard work, indefatigable effort, but most of all his leadership. This guy is the real deal. I have never been more proud of an individual that I have never met as I am of DH...I shed tears tonight (in public) and was not ashamed. NC is the goal, but the look on CNS' face said it all. It is developing men to be champions; win or lose the CFP, Henry and all of our boys are and will forever be Champions! RTR!!!

P.S. I think we win both games by a large margin based on the snubbing of everyone from the best D in college football RTR!!!

Congratulations to an upstanding young man. Between he and Mark Ingram, I don't think we could have hand-picked two more talented, sincere, hard-working and (add many more adjectives) icons of leadership for the Tide. I know it won't happen, but I sure wish he was going to be with Bama for one more year. But a man has to do what he has to do. Best wishes for a Heisman winner.

Roll Tide!

My Bama stepdaughter and her husband (Syracuse) are here visiting and we watched of course. The hubby commented on what a great acceptance talk he made, acknowledging his coaches and teammates. Also said that talk was phenomenal for the Bama program and the ultimate show of respect.

Well done Derrick. Congratulations. You are truly a class individual.

What a pleasure to see a young man who is so humble and thankful to God have his dream come true. Congrats, Derrick Henry, Heisman Trophy winner.
