SAD to say Lousyanna
Ok we all agree SP is not that great at throwing the ball and I will leave it at that. So here is my answer to the lingering question of what do we do.

How about if we have someone like AT or AJ that can throw the ball fairly well but cannot run the offense think about this: How about this one guy learns about 6 plays that he can run like the back of his hand say some deep post or corner routes anything related to passing with 2 audible plays like a quick pass to the back or a draw play in case he reads a blitz. What I am saying is if this guy (if we have one) does nothing but work on these 6 plays and in cases like 2 minute drills or like saturdays game he comes in and runs the offense with his 6-8 play playbook. I have to believe that someone over there on the sidelines can throw a decent pass to OUR reciever but due to the lack of playing time cannot run the whole offense. In theory this would work and wondered if anyone was thinking along these lines!!! :conf2:

I would have agreed with you 100% WYTBOYZ if we had more than >>>

3 games left, but frankly I am not in favor of blowing an entire Redshirt year for one or two guys with three games left when we are fairly certain we can win one of them without a QB and have a decent shot against LSWHO with the one we have.

Unfortunately it's just too late to waste a redshirt now!

Yea I thought of that myself

I was thinking its too late in the season but, with an off week and the possibility of a Bowl game is it a waste to get this done !!! I gotta believe we must make a Bowl game and win to have a good recruiting class!!

I think that with the extra week off it will give Guillion more time to heal. If we were to make it to a bowl game, he would have a much greater chance to get back on the field. In that respect, you'd have your alternate QB choice.

I don't think whether we win the bowl game or not will have anything to do with our recruiting class. These players know that they are going to come in and play right away in an NFL offensive system and that is the most attractive thing just about any school has to offer.

I have to think, though, that all this has already been thought of by the coaching staff .

HOWEVER: When we DON'T see something being done - we have to know that there's some reason why it wouldn't work.

First off- how do we know for sure that these younger guys - AJ & AT - can actually do that well? And how well would they actually do being thrown in a big-time college football game at this point? AND: do they also have that experience-only "knack" of field vision & field communication & leadership that more "seasoned" qb's have, enough to actually get out & not FLUB up??

There's lot of variables & I just think these coaches know a HECK of lot more than WE do - not only about the game of football , but also THIS football program & the players on the current team (to include their potential to do this or that) - There's always a reason. It's just not always so simple. And that's why THEY'RE the coaches & not US! :)

With torn muscles, I don't think that Guillon will be back very soon. He could be available by the time of a bowl, perhaps.

Let me get this straight. You guys think that taking a green freshman off the pine, that has no reps, no experience, and does not fully know the offensive schemes will miraculously waltz in the game against LSU and Auburn's defense and lead us to a stunning victory. C'mon guys, wake up...think about it.

Well, of course

Isn't the guy on the bench always better than the one that's playing? At least, it seems so to Alabama fans. :rolleye2:

Remember, before the season some people were saying that Guillon was going to take the starting spot from Brodie.

How soon they all forget Nita. It's the old "I need instant gratification" and "Let's change parts till it's fixed". In pre-season it was projected Bama would go 6-5 or 7-4. We are right on track yet here are those same ones who projected a 6-5 or 7-4 season venting like there is no tomorrow.

(well, a few of those venting are our old nemesis who have many different usernames)

That's what I don't understand... The consensus among pretty much everyone was that the absolute best we could hope for this year was 8-3, barring injuries. Here we are, with the worst injury fears realized, at 5-3. We're playing the best defense we've played since the Stallings years, we're running the football extremely well, and we're finally able to make a field goal and put kickoffs out of the endzone. The only one of the three games left where Alabama would be a significant underdog is the Iron Bowl.

A 7-4 regular season mark would be phenomenal, and 8-3 earns Shula a good look for SEC Coach of the Year.

So why are we even discussing trashing a redshirt and denying a 19-year old a year of eligibility? It just doesn't make sense, with only three games left.

Notice how I swung back on topic?

;)

Its seems so doesn't it. That's exactly the same problem we have now. SP has little experience and limited reps. I hope on top of hope that this week off is a good thing for SP. Shula should be (and I'm sure he is) feeding the SP the ball on as many times in a practice as he can. Its looks to me in the previous games that he has a problem with the timing of the throws which can be helped with reps. I think a quarterback change to one of freshman at this point would just be starting over. Do ya'll remember in the 2002 Auburn
game Fran pulled out Tyler Watts and put in Brodie off the bench. We still lost, and we I think we would all agree the BC has more talent throwing the ball than Tyler Watts. He just wasn't experienced at that time.
