"Last year was last year. You talk about how Alabama is not the same team as last year and how they should have won last year, but guess what, LSU is not the same team as last year either. I would venture to say that LSU's offense is more stable than it was last year when LSU was playing musical QBs and despite what you may have seen against ASU and UT, LSU's defense is probably better now than it was last year. And I agree with you, Alabama is better than last year. But saying since your better this year and should have won last year doesn't equate to winning this year. It will be a great game where both teams hit each other in the mouth. It will come down to who is the first to flinch. And by the way, I don't agree that Bama should have won last year, but that is a whole 'nother discussion."
Calm down man, don't be so defensive. First of all, I never said because Bama is better this year and they should have won last year equates a win for this year. What I did say is that Bama was outmanned last year which had a huge influence on the game in the 4th quarter. I also did not say LSU is not a better team this year. What I did say, is that Bama matches up much better this year than last year which in turn gives a better chance to win the game. LSU is a great team. Russell is becoming a good, solid QB and the defense has played better the last two weeks. But, you have to admit LSU has been suspect on defense against quality opponents. Also, the teams that they were suspect against did not have the defense to hold LSU out of the endzone in key situations. Yes, they played FL well, but FL gave 35 to Vandy last week. Are you saying Vandy's offense is better than LSU's.
