I guess I'll stick with ancient cable. Comcast Xfinity has worked well for me. Never had to miss a game. If Eli returns, I'll listen on ESPN radio, while watching on tv.

I have DirectTV Streaming, it cost me 89 a month, and I get free hulu through Verizon , so I have several options. I plan to use projection tv (4k) for patio to watch first game, and all for night games... I plan to watch the games on 89 inch tv upstair as well for all big games.

Sadly It's gotten to the point where I can't justify the cost to get ESPN. I'll probably just listen on the radio. We are pretty much back to how it was when I was a kid, when most games you only heard on the radio. I just refuse to be shaken down by greedy corporate goons.

I got rid of DISH last year and went with YouTube TV. I canceled after the NC game. This year I plan to get YouTube TV for Football season and cancel after the NC game. I was happy with it and it seems to be the best option out there. I seem to be subscribing primarily for ESPN and college football (mostly Alabama football). I have not missed everything else since I dropped it in JAN.

FYI You guys may know this already but just be aware that the unlimited DVR feature for both YTTV and Hulu only saves recordings for 9 months. On YTTV, if it re-airs anytime during those 9 months, on any channel, it will reset the clock. I'm not sure if that is true for Hulu.

YTTV will also record your favorite teams. I have mine set to record Alabama Football, Basketball and Braves games. Doesn't matter which channel, it finds them and saves them. It was great back when YTTV had the regional sports channels. I would have almost the entire Braves season saved in my cloud DVR.
I'm getting close now to two years with them. I signed up when Google Fiber became available and dropped Comcast, although I kept my Comcast address and mail service (at no cost). The nine months has bitten me a couple of times, because, if you subscribe to certain programs, as you indicate, your subscription runs out at nine months and you have to re-up (free). So, I've thought I was recording a program, only to find out I wasn't. I'm not real big on going back and rewatching old games, so it doesn't bother me. If I really want to see something from a game, it's always on Youtube after a while. This is a bit nerdy for the FB board, but Google's "up to" speed estimates are somewhat exaggerated. They're still very fast, though...

I look at it as two costs, Programming and Wi-Fi. I have used Hulu for about three years. Price has increased but it does the job. I only use it for Bama games. $69.99 per month just for college football. I literally care nothing about any other channel. With free apps like Tubi, Crackle etc. I watch all the old TV shows and movies I want to. I'm now shopping to lower my wifi cost. I have WOW at another 69 bucks a month..ouch. I keep getting ads for Verisons $25 dollar "cable less" wifi but it's not yet offered to my neighborhood. When it does I'll probably check it out because it has no contract. Until then it's Hulu and WOW.

Whether it's cable or streaming, it is a horse race to see who charges the higher rates. Either way it would be hard to go back to seeing two to three games a year. It is like deciding between the devil you know and the devil you don't.

Youtube TV. Not a fan of the price but that's all there is. Also, I have a MLB.tv subscription for watching baseball. Getting individual sports league subscriptions seems to be the best bet because I can switch from one to the next depending on the season but that doesn't help with college sports.
