Maybe the parent should help their son get better or find something he will be better doing.
There are important lessons to learn in life. He needs to get much better or find something he is more successful doing. His school and coach should just drop football if they don't excel at it or can't compete. A very good football team should play with sportsmanship but still play to the best of their ability. All the back-up players should also play to the best of their ability. What's wrong with excelling at something? Nothing. You need to be involved in something that you will be good at. Maybe he needs to play in the band or be a cheerleader, join FFA, etc.
The parent is a loser for even comparing this to bullying. Bullying on a football field usually gets you a penalty: a personal foul.
This school must be so small that they don't have enough quality players to even have a team. I know it's hard to get beat bad like that, but you should learn from things such as this.
Seems like our society is trying to dum down everything so that those with no ability can compete even though they are not capable of competing. Education has been dummed down in elementary schools, secondary schools, and in colleges/universities. Not all of us were born to be Einstein, et al. Some people are just more gifted, talented, more innately intelligent than others. So, participate in what you are good at doing. If you can't find something, then just do your very best at what you do and don't cry or complain.
One of these days the parent will be dead. What will she/he as a parent have taught her son/s or daughter/s? To cry and say life isn't fair? That's _ _!
Anybody here from Texas know anything about these two schools? Are they both in the same classification? In other words, are they both 6A or whatever levels they have in Texas? Are they in the same region and required to play each other?
How do they compare size wise or in terms of where the schools are located economically? If the winning school were Hoover, what would the other school be?

They are both about the same size and are both 4A teams. Benbrook (Western Hills) and Aledo Texas are about 12-15 miles apart. The winning team is more blue collar, the losing team is much more middle class. And the winning team (Aledo) won titles in 2009-2010-2011, they are pretty salty team for 4A. Western Hills has not won a playoff game since the mid 90's.
Cumberland wasn't playing football when this game was played.
They had discontinued their football program, but were held to the contract by Georgia Tech, and they sent 14 players to avoid having to pay a $3000 fine.
Furthermore, earlier that year, Cumberland had whipped Georgia Tech in baseball 22–0 amidst allegations of having used professional ringers, and the Tech coach was coach of both baseball and football (and was none other than John Heisman himself)

My recollection of The King of the Hill episode entitled, "Three Coaches and a Bobby," is that it does a good job dealing with this issue.
Aledo would be considered a traditional 4A powerhouse. So far they are 7-0 and have had wins of 44-3, 56-14, 49-0, 84-7, 77-16, 84-7, 91-0.
I think Aledo recently dropped down a division due to smaller enrollment.
So maybe they're more like LaMarque back in the day.

It gets expensive buying trophies for everyone. I'm on the board at our local baseball league and we've never bought trophies for everyone. The teams that comes in first and second at the end of the regular season get a trophy and the teams that come in first and second in the end of season tournament get medals. Normally they are the same or close to it.
Fine. Alabama beat Arkansas 104-0 in the last 8 quarters. How's that for bullying?
