Best thing I can say is this guy was so good I never realized he was an Auburn Graduate.

He was a very good sports writer which don't have no where anymore, I remember growing up in Huntsville, 60's- late 70' s, always looked forward to the Friday paper with all the sports writers picks for the weekend games, RIP

I grew up reading Bill Easterling before Pruitt moved over from the Huntsville News. It was always a must read for me. In the early 2000's I emailed Pruitt after an excellent article he authored and related my high regard for Easterling and how skeptical I was about the bespeckled guy who came over from the News. He shared the note with Mike Easterling who was then prep sports reporter for the Times. Later Mike followed my late son's high school career and wrote a very nice article on a save he had in a playoff game.

Sports suffered a tremendous loss when these great writers disappeared from the scene.
