If AP re-votes their 2004 NC, should Auburn win it?

If they're going to revote, I like the Olympics method bets, where the team that lost to the Gold medal team (Silver medal team) gets promoted to Gold. The Bronze place team doesn't get Gold just because the Silver place team was beat by the Gold medal team. Third place is third place.

Another moral victory for the Barn!

To even consider backing into a championship like this is so "Auburn". They can have their little-pond victories. That team was far from dominating and there is zero evidence they were any better than Oklahoma.

The BCS process for choosing National Champions is already having enough credibility problems without trying to award one after the fact.

IF:
- USC receives NCAA sanctions that vacate wins in 2004.
- BCS declares no NC in 2004.
- AP re-votes for their champion.

Should the AP declare Auburn the NC for 2004? I vote yes. I suspect that's unlikely to be a popular opinion here. :eek2: However, Auburn was undefeated in SEC play. Granted, their OOC games were rediculous. However, their body of work in 2004 was better than anyone else's IMO (excluding USC). Surely Oklahoma has no claim; USC brutalized them.

What say you?

If, If's and Buts were candy and nutts; we would all have a Merry Christmas.

I take it there 2004 BCS trophy could be taken away, but again I don't see them getting there AP trophy taken away. Simply for the fact that the Barners and Oklahoma won a National Championship while on Probation.

it would be ridiculously fitting for booger state university. and you know they'd have to throw some hilararious after-the-fact victory parade/celebration. it'd almost be worth hoping for.
