This article is a textbook case of "I don't have an article written and I'm due. Quick, what do I do? Oh, I'll just inter-mingle an ages old idea between the best pro& college team a fact like its something new."

Idiot.

Sorry Sip,

I totally dissagree! Sure the maturity and strength level of college and pro has a huge gap. Also, many uninformed fans or should I say fans who love the game but dont understand the technical side as well as matchup issues think we could beat a pro team and they would be wrong in my opinion. However, with that said, there are several current Bama players I bet the Jags would take right now to start over some of their players. Not 10+ or anything but there are 3-5.

A talented player can score on any given play, i dont care who lines up across from him. Injuries happen, players slip and fall, missed tackles, missed assignments happen at all levels. Would A.J have all day against the Jags? No, it would be worse than virginia Tech. But he would make some plays. Thats why I said we would not cover against them. But I do think we could cover against Denver. Coming up with a scheme for Manning would be easier than JM. Especially, if our game plan only had to keep us within 40 points.
Peyton would pick apart our defense. He's doing it against NFL defenses now. The scheme may look good on paper, but he has the ability to read the defense pre-snap and figure out what is happening.

Denver would score as many points as they want. the difference in talent level is huge. AJ probably wouldnt make it out of that game. I'd be willing to also bet the Jags cover easily. the strength and talent level would be way too much to overcome against any NFL team. our WR's would get destroyed coming off the line of scrimmage. i think it would look like vtech vs bama times 10

Denver would score in the 70's or 80's. We would score 0.
So you don't think Amari, Deandrew or Kenny wins a jump ball or runs by someone when they try to jump a route and AJ has just enough time to throw a great long ball (the best long ball passer in the history of our program). I know we would be dominated but to say we would not score is not giving our guys quite enough credit.

The same can be said for those that say Georgia State won't score against us.

Thinking this Bama team could not score 10+ points against any pro team is not giving our entire team any credit. Whether it was special teams, defense or our Offense i would bet every day we could put up 10 points. Some days well over 10. How many FCS teams have scored on us before? Not exactly the same but a decent compairison of talent level differences.

The only way I could see Bama hanging with any NFL team is if you had an all-star team of Saban-coached Bama players. Even then I think we lose by 14-17 points to the worst NFL offering because Alabama still has a few positions where we don't have enough NFL starter quality players. We'd be decent enough on defense though the lack of a NFL starter edge rusher would be hard to overcome. The offense would be in bad shape because we don't really have an NFL quality LT (Andre and DJ are RTs, Carpenter is a OG), the WR depth would be poor, and our best TE pairing would be OJ Howard as a freshman and Michael Williams.

Alabama has a ton of talent but it is absurd to think Alabama would keep it under three scores with any NFL team.

We couldn't score 10+ on 98% of Pro Teams... Our offensive line would be DOMINATED by every defensive front in the NFL. Not to sound negative, but everyone can see we haven't played as well this year as we have in years past... Denver's defense, which is pretty loaded top to bottom, wouldn't let us sniff the endzone

Since Saban's first year, here are the points for each non-AQ or 1AA team Alabama faced:

2007, Western Carolina: 6
2007, Houston: 24
2007, La-Monroe: 21
2008, Tulane: 6
2008, Western Kentucky: 7
2008, Arkansas State: 0
2009, Florida International: 14
2009, North Texas: 0
2009, UT-Chattanooga: 0
2010, San Jose State: 3
2010, Georgia State: 7
2011, Kent State: 7
2011, North Texas: 0
2011, Georgia Southern: 21
2012, Western Kentucky: 0
2012, Florida Atlantic: 7
2012, Western Carolina: 0

That is an average of just under 7 points a game. The only game with a noticeable score is the Georgia Southern game, which we all know was because of their offense.

SIAP but you are basically taking a team with at the most a handful of NFL prospects and pitting them against a team made up of 100% NFL prospects (former).
