I will address all questions with objectivity and honesty, not with homerism. I follow this team very closely, so I think I can give a decent answer. I'm not going to address Fournette's tweets, LSU fan's behavior, Coach O's accent, or such.

If you don't have any questions, that's cool too and this thread will die on the vine. Incidentally, my thoughts on the team haven't really changed much (other than I likely underestimated Burrow's TD total) from post #64 in this thread:

Seriously....why is Fournette still annoyed so many years later?
He is too hard on himself. I don't keep up with where all the guys on our Defenses (that Fournette played against during his time) are nowadays , but most of them are still playing professionally I think. He is a mighty fine player and was since he first played back in his first experiences in the game. I wanted him at Bama.

What do you hear on Delpit's ankle, I know CEO says he does not know if he will practice this week or much next week but he should be good to go by game day. Sounds a little off but I'm no doctor.

Do you expect the defense to be in nickel or dime basically the whole game? If so, is that an advantage or disadvantage for lsu? Said the other way, is an extra LB or an extra DB an advantage for them?

Here's my question. How well do you think LSU's defense will do against Bama's offense? The reason I'm asking is because most LSU fans I've talked to have almost zero respect for our offense. They are actually expecting for y'alls defense to keep us under 20 pts and y'all to score in excess of 30 pts. The reasoning? "Bama ain't played nobody and hasn't faced a defense of LSU's caliber." Do you really think your defense is that good and/or Bama's offense is that overrated?

Delpit should be good for game time and will play. He was walking on the field after the game showing no signs of a significant injury. He didn't practice yesterday, but that's not shocking.

How would you assess the OL of LSU.
Is their strength pass pro vs run blocking?
Are they stronger or weaker inside at OG or outside OT?

Les Miles recruited guards to play tackle so it's been a tough transition to get athletic OL for this system. Doesn't happen overnight. The line is solid, not great. Charles, the LT, has played well, but has sat 4 games due to internal suspension. His replacement is raw making the transition from DL last year as a Fr. We got Ingram back at LG once the charges against him were dropped (reportedly having relations with his GF while in HS and she was under 18, he was not), but being out all of last year and early part of this year has proven him to be rusty. Magee is starting at LG, playing well and is a beast. C Cushenberry has been a pleasant surprise. His snaps are on the money. RG is another road grader in Lewis. RT Deculus has always thought to be better suited for G, but he has been another good surprise this year. He was dinged (ankle) against AU. I would say their strength is in the middle.

I expect that on Tigerdroppings. Is that what you're hearing on the ground there from non-message board fans. Hard to believe that they can be that naive...

Yes, non internet discussions. I've heard the exact same thing from nearly every LSU fan I've talked to (in person). They have very little respect for Bama's offense and credits a lot of our explosiveness to playing a "cupcake" schedule that will be exposed November 9th.

Chicken and Sausage or seafood gumbo?

Is Oeaux as hands off on playcalling as he lets on, because I question the sanity of running multiple 4th down plays vs the best front 7 in college football when taking the points was probably the wiser decision.

Serious question: what are some of y'all base plays this years. I've noticed a lot of levels and square-in patterns...anything else?

They do a hand off out of the shotgun (to #22) where he takes one to two steps toward the middle of the line then bounces to the outside. Most times I've seen them run this they get at least 8 yards. I have no idea what scheming process they are using to consistently get that much running room.

Well, they should run it more, since they're 46th in the nation in YPC...

Contrary to what some say, DB is a strength for LSU, so I expect us to be in nickel mostly. Depth is an issue. Our two CBs are a senior (Fulton) and a freshman (Stingley). I truly believe either would start for any team in the country. Fulton is projected in mid to late round 1, Stingley barring injury has the chance to be a top 3 pick. Fulton is in the slot and might be the fastest guy on the field. He runs track for LSU and is a sprinter. His cover skills are average at best. He plays WAAAAY off the receivers. JaCoby Stevens at safety is interesting. SEC defensive player of the week the last 2 weeks, but is it because our LBers missed tackles? He could be a LBer, he is very physical and a heck of an athlete. I love him as a player, and he has done everything the coaches have asked, even playing WR as a freshman for a stint. He can't play man on your WRs though, they would feast. The next guys up are true freshman since we lost Harris to a season ending knee injury. Our other DBs, Lewis and Monroe were 4* recruits who just haven't been able to get into the rotation.

We have athletic LBers, especially Queen. But, I expect we'll use more nickel and dime than extra LBers, especially with Bama having such a potent passing attack.
