Who do you guys think will be the impact players that were highly touted who might live up to their potential this year? Who do yall think will be a player who is not expected to contribute much that you guys think will contribute in a good way to this year's ball club?

Re: Question about 2007 FB Team?

If Marlon Davis (assuming he wins the NT starting job) can handle playing defense with the rest of the dudes while they're all learning a new scheme, I think that he could surprise a lot of people and potentially make our transition to a 3-4 a big easier. It won't be perfect, but surely these guys can learn and get better as the season moves forward.

I think JPW has a chance to prove even more of his unlimited potential. But he's going to need help from whoever plays starting RB, thus, the RB spot can be a nice surprise also.

I think you are refering to Brian Motley? I don't recall Marlon Davis even trying out for the defensive side of the ball.

I would love to see JPW have an amazing year and I think that is probable considering some of his performances this past season. Also, if Johns gets the RB position like I hope he can make a pretty big impact on the offensive side of the ball.

JPW will have alot more to work with this season. Much better protection and 2 of the SEC's best receivers to work with. Johns, Grant, Coffee & Upchurch should provide a balanced runnning game to help out too.:BigA:

I look for Andre Smith and Prince Hall to get the biggest jump from the new and improved S&C program. Both guys showed terrific talent last season but also looked like they could trim down a bit. I look for both of them to be studs this season. I see Brian Motley as being the biggest surprise as a big part of the defense.

Agreed on prince hall needing to gain some speed and athleticism, but andre is fast and athletic enough that his size is a big plus. Especially since he's a bit on the short side for a tackle.

If we are talking pure impact I would say Terry Grant on offense..

and Rolando McClain on defense..

many players will suprise this year, IMO, thriving in a new system.

I like Woodall on defense and T. Grant on offense. Also McCall and Walker will be plenty better at TE (or at least will see some balls thrown their way).

I think Will Oakley should have a good year. CNS likes to get the speedy guys on the field in some way and I think that he still the fastest guy on the team.:BigA:

I think Oakley and Stover will emerge this year. JPW will shine but the impact players we will need are on defense. I think Greewood and Gilberry will make an impact on our season.
