That was painfully long. 2021 was hard, and that highlights just how much. Godspeed to all.

So many of those I didn't know but my heart goes out to all of the families. There were a lot that I did remember and it just hurts, especially the younger guys that are gone way too soon. God bless their families.

One of those really hit home because he was my neighbor back in the early 1990's. A truly great person and an outstanding athlete. I thank all of these Crimson Tide legends for making the University of Alabama athletics what it is today. May they Rest In Peace.

Hard to see folks younger than you or the same age on that video. I shook Keith McCants hand at a basketball game in 1990, I believe. I also knew Heath Davis from the baseball team through my work on WVUA Sports play-by-play. And of course, with Cecil, we lost an icon.

There were a few that I had not heard about, including Mike Pitts and Buddy Pope.
Used to watch Pitts do cartwheels on the field. Mr Todd Blackledge can recall getting 7 attempts on the goalline. He must have seen Pitts doing a cartwheel in celebration of our Defense holding Penn State's Offense out of the end zone.
