Is Dabo Now "The Man" ?

Maybe the man of the moment. He will have to win a few more to even qualify for Saban's league, and by then CNS will have reset the bar.

And I'll bet the farm Clemson does not beat Alabama next season.

Well, right now Dabo is the man....of the moment. Yes, he did just beat the GOAT in one game. When Dabo whens more NC's that Saban, then he will be the man.
He did not just beat the GOAT, be routed the GOAT.

No, he didn't. The Clemson players did. If this was just Saban vs. Dabo it never would have been a contest, unfortunately they have to battle by proxy and with what ever limitations they are dealt.

When he obtains the same records playing against SEC competition, then yeah, he can be "The Man." Until then, he's a really good coach who knocks out mediocre competition throughout the season in preparation for the games that matter.

Just consider the three games leading up to the championship.

Clemson: South Carolina, Pitt, and Notre Dame.
Alabama: Auburn, Georgia, and Oklahoma.

Or to put it another way according to Sagarain the #41, #50 and #7 team or the #15, #4, and #5 team.

That's not making excuses, but when you have that big a disparity it makes a difference.

The question though is, even with added pressure, is the Clemson schedule so light it won't really matter. Unless the ACC becomes a powerhouse conference over the off season, their toughest game looks like A&M, and they get them at Clemson. I certainly hope all they do is talk about Clemson all year and it gets in their heads.
Clemson tends to play to the level of their competition. They could easily drop a couple of games. Especially with a big target on their backs.

You’ve gotta play someone who can beat you. That schedule is slim.

Their OOC is A&M , Wofford and Charlotte.

And South Carolina. I agree they don't play anyone, but my point was that they are capable of losing to a team or two that they aren't supposed to lose to.
