Is Jamie Christiansen back from injury?

Christopher Walsh says he is back from a groin injury in this article, but I thought he hurt his groin last year. I was pretty sure he was out recently with a quadriceps injury. Is Walsh referring to last year in this article, or did he get the injury wrong? Or am I just confused in thinking that a groin and quad injury are 2 totally different things?

I do hope Jamie is back. I know Tiffin beat him out in practice, but after seeing the way Leigh kicked the other night, I'd feel better with Jamie.

i feel much better about tiffen kicking than jc. what people forget is, in every game "money" kicked a game winner, he missed at least one earlier in the game.

I don't know if we will see Jamie or not. I hope Leigh can get it together...he missed one field goal by a hair but the other one was totally off. If he hadn't missed that shorter field goal I think it wouldn't be that bad. Hopefully Leigh will have a good week of practice and get things going in the right direction. I think if he could have a good game he might be able to get over the misses.

Sometimes you can think too much when it comes to fixing a problem. I know when it comes to golf if I think too much about what I'm doing wrong it just makes it harder to do what is right.

Ahh, but how many games have we lost because JC missed one in a critical spot? Every kicker misses FGs. Some just rise up when necessary. I have no idea how good Tiffen looks in practice, but he has only looked good in one game that counted (IMO).

I would much rather have a kicker that kicks wounded ducks and gets them through than a kicker that kicks it high and straight but misses. Not getting on Tiffen. He still has lots of time to progress. But JC is a proven commodity...

im for leaving tiffin in till he kicks his way out of his anxiety. the boos from the crowd dont help him either. saban needs to reassure that he is our kicker win lose or draw. he needs to block out the crowd be positive and consentrate and attack the ball. he will be fine

I want everyone to understand that I am not ripping Leigh. He is doing his best. But if JC can do better, let's let him have a go (assuming that he is healthy)...

LT just needs to regain his confidence. He has the tools to be an extremely good kicker.

His overall skill set is much better than JC. Not even close. That's why he won the kicking job in the first place.

Now if he can just get confident in his own abilities...

I get what you mean NY...I think there is a sentimental leaning toward Leigh because of his pedigree. I'm in favor of whoever CNS thinks should play (I believe that is what you are saying too).

Agreed, and I agree that Leigh has a huge upside. JC took his lumps with a few bad games in 2005, but he always seemed to hit the important FGs.

Leigh has kicked FGs for Bama in 5 games. He did very well in his first 3, and very poorly in his last 2. The real question - can he handle the pressure - will be answered on the field. I hope that we (and Leigh) know the answer before we need him again (like in the Hogs & Vandy games last year).

So far, with the game on the line, Leigh has won one and lost one. The jury is still out...

Confidence is a crucial tool that can destroy the other ones. A tool that Tiffin seems to be lacking since that game in Fayetteville.

FWIW, I don't think either kicker has proven to be a good kicker, so far. I've been nervous every time either one of them has lined up for a kick.

You're right, Money did not dress Saturday due to the quad injury. That is why he has been out the last 2 weeks of practice. I think he is still out and will not dress for Vandy, unless something has changed since Sunday.

The fact that he hasn't practiced is a sure sign he will not play this week. Just as a side note...I've wondered about the snap and hold that Leigh is getting...some of them looked kind of shakey against WCU.

I saw nothing wrong with the first missed kick. That one appeared to be all Tiffin's fault. The second snap/hold did look shaky.

The one thing that does disturb me about LT- there was really no pressure in the WCU game. Those should have been like kicking in practice. Nothing on the line, just go out there and nail it.

Oh well. Florida seemed to do pretty well last year with a kicker that, I don't believe, made a field goal until late in the season? Of course, that's not the norm. Just saying...
