Hey Terry I do what I can. Isn't it funny to see how many people actually do have wacko rituals they must observe before games, sometimes I forget I'm not the only one who does stuff like this. My friend Bill's thing is he can't eat chicken on gameday.

You heard from Shannon lately?

This thread had me thinking, "what didn't I do yesterday." The only thing I came up with is I didn't put a Bama hat on. It wouldn't have matched...but that's a different story in itself...

I have an OLD Bama t-shirt I bought back in college, it has been my "lucky" gameday shirt ever since I wore it during the Florida game in 99. Well, the poor old thing is wearing out and on it's last leg. Last year I got a new Bama t-shirt that I liked a lot so I thought I'd try to break it in as a new "lucky" shirt. Well, I wore the old lucky shirt for the Florida game 2 weeks ago for old time's sake, but thought they wouldn't need a powerful amount of luck this week and tried out the new one.

As they struggled through the first half I wondered openly to my wife if I should put on the old one. During a bathroom break I made up my mind that I would. I stripped off the new shirt grabbed the old one - walked in the room and put it on and the next play was Darby's touchdown run. Whew!

What were we all thinking?!?!?!

PS - I had a wedding I had to be at at 3:30. The game wouldn't be over yet, so I wore the lucky shirt under my dress clothes. Needless to say, as I sat in the parking lot of the church building listening to the end, I was very thankful of my decision.

That is PREPOSTEROUS. What person in their right mind gets married on a Saturday during college football season?!? What kind of whipped groom agrees to such a date, and what kind of sadistic bride insists on it?

These are not normal people.

I thought about posting this today...

...while I was cutting the grass, but you guys beat me to it. I claim partial responsibility. Since our last SEC championship I've used a 1999 SEC Champ beer hugger during the games. We all know how it's gone since then, so I decided to break the karma this year and use a different one. Was working out great. Well, saturday morning I couldn't find the hugger I've been using this year, so I pulled out the ol' 1999 SEC Champ hugger. Found my other one midway through the 4th qtr and ditched the '99 before the last drive. WHEW! I thought I blew it!

I kinda go against all superstitions but so far this year I have had my black cat, Sweetness, in the room with me while watching the games this year. Well, Saturday, I went out to bring her inside before the game and could not find her. So I came back in and watched the game and waited for her to come to the door and start meowing. She never did show up, until the commercial break right before Bama's final drive of the 4th quarter. I bring her in, she jumps in my chair with me, and Bama wins the game.

Nope I have not heard from Shannon in about 3 years, I also have not seen Jimmy I miss those guys. I still tailgate with Crimson Princess before games, you never met her that I know of but I'm sure you remember her from the board.

You people and your superstitions...

Are none of you aware that they are all meaningless since we are guided by a MUCH greater omen?

The Crimson Tide is undefeated since Kentucky Fried Chicken began using "Sweet Home Alabama" in its commercials.

I have a cousin getting married the day of the LSU game. We've already been ragging him about his decision.

I'll share part of the blame...

I screwed the team up in two ways. I am stationed in Colorado Springs, CO and I, along with about 15 other die hard Bama fans get together to watch the games each week (first piece). Also, I wear the same Tide jersey each week while watching the game (second piece). This past weekend, I drove to Alabama (while not wearing my jersey) to go to a school at Maxwell AFB. The only contact I had with the game was the occasional break-in on Sporting News Radio to give the score and my wife calling to give me play-by-play at critical moments. She's no Eli Gold but it was all I had. When the score was looking bleak, I had to pull over at a truck stop near Lawrence, Kansas, dig out my suit case and pull on the jersey. It didn't make everything right in the world, but at least we won. :D

it was me

i drank miller lite instead of natural lite. it won't happen again because i lost money on Bama :)

on a side note, weddings are no excuse for missing Bama games. in 1987, when i was 9, i skipped my brother's wedding to watch the Bama-ND game on television because they told me they would not let me watch it at the church after the wedding.

This post has been a revelation.

I got up at exactly the same time as usual.
I had exactly the same thing for breakfast as usual.
I wore exactly the right shirt.
I placed the flag in exactly the same place as usual.
I drank exactly the same thing as usual.

I did everything I always do as usual, and throughout
the game could not understand what was wrong.

Now I know it was the rest of ya'll.

Really, it's almost enough to make me think you're
not taking it seriously. ;)

My red and white satin thong, complete with elephant trunk, was dirty and I couldn't wear it. I usually wear this and prance around in the front yard after every score. The neighbors just LOVE this. I had to go to my back-up thong, and it just wasn't the same.
