It's that time again. Pick The Score: West Virginia vs. Alabama

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

I have a bad feeling about this game , 28-20 Bama . in the limited practice throws I have seen and the spring game, our QBs have not been accurate. I am hoping that inaccuracy only leads to a close score.
I believe this game will be a plus for SOS, I think the Mountaineers will be vastly improved and finish 8 -4 .

Apparently some of y'all are putting a lot of stock into our QB play in the A-Day game.

Forget that. That was a practice and it was against maybe the best D our O will face this season, also it was with only a small portion of the playbook going against a D that had spent all spring working against those plays.

That won't be the case against WV and our QBs have since had a complete fall practice to improve in every facet of their games.

In Holgosen's 3 years at WV, 38 games they have given up an average of 33 points. Ihave no doubt that we'll exceed that total even if we didn't throw a single pass. (which we will of course)

You'd also be assuming that our defense would struggle against them too, which is highly unlikely. WV has not seen a defense like what's coming their way August 30.

WV hasn't shown they have any kind of defense

They held OU last season in Norman to 16 points. I think that proves they are capable despite their otherwise abysmal record last yr.

That was one of those games where both teams stunk it up, it's just that in the end, Oklahoma stunk it up just a tad bit less.

I think our offense will be good. But against their bad D, it'll look great. I think our defense will be great. But against their tricky offense, it'll only look good.

So 42-14.

My 0.02 worth

WVU defense was awful last year, however the defensive staff added a veteran coach to their staff (Tom Bradley formerly of Penn St.). While his official title is Senior Associate Head Coach (Defensive Line) it is hard to imagine a coach of his experience not having a major impact on the defensive philosophy and design (JMO). Along with the QB and CB situation at Bama, new defensive coach for WVU, and the difficulty we have had defending the spread at times; the Vegas line may be a stretch. I think Bama wins the game and pulls away late however the first half may be similar to last year vs VT.

Bama 38
WVU 14
