Jahvon Quinerly to enter transfer portal

Just noticed Quinerly and Namari Burnett are currently playing against each other with Memphis vs Michigan. Both players started. Burnett has 13 points at halftime; Quinerly has 9 points and 3 assists.

Quinerly has had a good start in the first three games of the season and the 1st half of the 4th game. Leads Memphis in minutes played, assists, and steals; he is 3rd in scoring. He has a good 3-point percentage (6-13). It will be interesting to see how he does all season.

I looked at Quinerly's stats and he's getting about 32 minutes per game. Shooting 38.6% from 3. His assist to turnover ratio is about 2.3, which a whole lot better than when he was here.

I don't know what his stats were like during the latter part of last season, but it seemed that the team offense performed much better during the last third of the season with Quinerly in the game.

When Quinerly would drive in and get a shot blocked, some folks would immediately declare "hero ball"; when any other Bama guard did that, it was "oh well , nice try". He would lose minutes at Bama but when Sears went out for a little the other night, it highlighted to me how much Quinerly could help Bama.

It was very concerning when Sears was injured and the team did play really bad for the last few minutes of the 1st half. But, in the 2nd half, Estrada, Griffin and Wrightsell stepped up and pulled the team out to a big lead with Sears on the bench most of the time. I feel better about guard play than I did last year.

Qunerly could get his own shot.

Well and he did graduate from Alabama with a degree and is what 25 years old, so yes likely got a better deal and a bit more playing time. I always feel more invested in the players who graduated from Bama and then transferred, as opposed to those who just shop.
