Jarret Johnson Update

JJ is a tenacious player for the Baltimore Ravens and he's going to get a shot to start. I've met JJ here in Baltimore and it was like we were old friends. He was glad to meet someone from Alabama. Terry Jones, Jr. and Dante Ellington are with the Ravens also. I've met Terry Jones, as well, and he's a really good guy. They make me proud as a Bama fan to see them to do well with the Ravens.

During the draft combines, some of the assistant coaches interviewed the players. One of the things they did was see what would happen if they got in the player's face.

They got in Jarret's face and questioned his heart, manhood, etc. He damn near put one of them through a wall. They knew then that he was a keeper.

JJ was always one of my all time favorite players

He never, ever gave up on a play or a season. I remember a number of times a play was run away from him and he'd hustle to make the tackle 20 yds downfield. You could tell it absolutely KILLED him to lose. A good guy and had one of the biggest hearts I've ever seen.
