Jason White Retires

Great college player, played with a lot of heart. For those who doubt Brodie or Castille can come back strong, just take a look at this young man.

He was a great player in college, but isn't it a bit melodramatic to announce your retirement from a sport that you never played? Yeah, he was on the team, but come on...

I agree, Tommy...the young man came out of nowhere(Tuttle, OK) and was robbed out of a second Heisman, unless it had gone to his teammate Adrian Peterson, in my humble opinion. He's without question the best QB to put on the Sooner jersey.

White retires

Who was the Heisman QB from Nebraska that retired while in training camp w/ the Rams? Then made a come back in NFL Europe.

Eric Crouch? Thank goodness he won a Heisman. Heisman winners always turn out to be studs.

White was a classy kid who played with heart, but was also one of the most over-hyped, overrated players to come out of college football in the last decade. He didn't deserve the first heisman, much less a second. Like many others before him, he received the trophy for being a qb with good numbers who played on one of the best teams in the country. He wa nowhere near one of the 10 best players in the country.

White has "retired" because he is not an NFL caliber player. I guess later today I will announce my retirement from the NFL. Overall I liked White as a college qb, but this was just plain silly IMO.

 You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I believe an overwhelming majority of Sooner and Crimson Tide fans would vehemently disagree with you on JW's Heisman award.

IMO, Jason White more than earned his Heisman. He had an unbelievable year that season. Also, I think a case could be made that he was robbed this past year and deserved a second one. He certainly was more deserving than Gino Torretta (sp?) the year he won it. I remember what happened in the bowl game following his winning the award. ;)

Ok If he can retire from the NFL without ever playing a game.........................

Then I am anouncing my retirement from the Pittsburg Steelers. I have tried to play the game, but at my age it's getting harder and harder to get up and go to the fridge during commericals.
