Jeremiah Castille speaks out!!!

Saban is not going to tell anyone what the punishment for Castille is going to be. Hmmm. He might still be suspended for a few games. Probably not any big games. He'd probably play in the Arkansas game.

The sportswriters in Alabama aren't going to like that. They don't like how Saban deals with the press already from what I hear.

What are they gonna do? not write about Alabama anymore? Ha they wouldn't have a job then.

You guessed right.

I don't see anything major here. The "police blotter" this year is limited to a handful of disorderly conduct charges. All in the parking lot on the strip. Most collage bars I play the band starts at 1:00 am. I've seen hundreds of arrest over the years and with a decent lawyer SC's legal troubles will go poof. When you leave a club, DON'T HANG OUT IN THE PARKING-LOT! I've fired some pretty good players for doing it and, I think CNS is going to fire-up some pretty good players for the same reason. Jeremiah is dead-on.

I hate that SC now has an arrest record at such an early age and also, his arrest has discredited the university and it's football program to a small degree. After all, these guys are mentors to some of the younger kids and his arrest, no matter how small the charge, looks bad.

But, we still love him anyway......

Lets look at the first stories to come out after the arrest since apparently the people here are expert journalists:

Birmingham: talked to the guy in Birmingham who relayed Castille's story. The article was surely considered pro-Castille.

Mobile: Stated that there was no fight or alcohol related to the incident in his lead paragraph. The rest was written with a tone indicating there might not be much justification to the arrest. Estes also attempted to contact Simeon Castille, Jeremiah Castille and Tim Castille to get their side of the story. They all denied. A day later, they ran a story giving Catsille's side of the story from his mother that was surely pro Castille.

Huntsville: Day after arrest had the worst coverage and very little information but stated the facts that were in the police report. I would assume that like all people covering the team, he along with the other newspapers knew that this would likely blow over but at that point there were no sources to write that in a paper.

But since everybody here is well studied in journalism, I would assume you know that you can't write "Castille was wrongly arrested" unless you have someone on the record saying that. A day after the arrest they had quotes from Jeremiah saying it would likely be squashed.

WHERE IS THIS SHOUTING and whispering???????? Who cares what BOL says? They are extremely insignificant in the grand scheme of things. They have a few thousand subscribers where the newspapers have hundreds of thousands. We as message board viewers put way too much stock into BOL and other sites like that. Your average Bama fan has no idea what BOL even is.

So basically what I am geting at is some people need to relax and stop whining about the continued persecution of Alabama football by the media. While that may have been the case in the past, you guys are grasping at straws in this case.

I would think there would now be some strict curfew implemented after this. Its a shame that this happened, but we do learn from our mistakes. Nobody is perfect.

Why should the football team have a curfew? Are they not entitled to all the liberties that the other 22,000 students enjoy? Curfew before a game I understand, but to impose a curfew for the whole team the whole time is unjust in my opinion.
