Jersey Changes?

You are all on drugs. They're perfect the way they are.

No shoulder stripes, no words, no numbers on the sleeves, no color tweaking, no "A" on the helmet, no white helmet.

This thing is fantastic:

The only possible change I would make would be to make the jerseys look more like this color that Indiana has.....

Up close and personal, the jerseys look okay, but in the sunlight, on tv, and they reflect so much light that they look plain red.

Maybe that shiny material needs to go.
To compare us to indiana. I cant even think of a pun. Ill just give you a free pass- please dont do it again.

Bobo, good for you. It's nice to know that some youth still value tradition.

To change our uniforms would be akin to Frank Sinatra trying to rap.

Now that's living in the past! :)

Honestly, small tweaks probably wouldn't bother me one bit.....as long as they were minor in detail. But one thing I CANNOT take is white cleats. I think they look horrendous. That's my only hang up. I HATE white cleats.

AMEN!

the numbers shouldnt ever come off the helmets thats like changing notre dames helmets to navy blue w/ a gold "ND" on the side the script a is nice but it should stay on the collar...

I would like to see the jerseys go back to the way they were back in the late 70's - (1978 & 1979.) Maybe its simply for the fact that's when I was first introduced to 'Bama football as a young child. There was nothing better to see the likes of #42, Major Oglive, running down the field with his jersey half torn, up to his chest... When you saw those 'Bama teams and crimson jerseys, no names on the backs, no Nike logos on the front, jerseys cut above the 'ole belly button, you knew you were watching something special!!

Roll Tide from Michigan!!

Why! Why! Must we discuss this every summer? Leave it alone! Please no one start another post about the uniforms!

I do agree with the previous post. Bring back the "tear-a-ways".... that is truly Alabama Football!!

If CMS and the players agree on it, then so be it!

The NCAA made Tear Away jerseys illegal in 1982. ;)

Although I am just 23, I think the jerseys look perfect as they are. If I changed anything at all it would be very minor. I would like to see the team wear knee length socks either white or crimson that would meet the bottom of their pants. Make them uniform through out the team and also make all the cleats uniform in style. I know linemen mostly prefer high-tops and backs and recievers prefer more low to mid-top shoes but the style itself shoud be exact through out. I think this would make the entire team look very neat and sharp and could give them more of a team and together mentality.

Perkins was coach in the mid 1980's, I didn't know they wore white helmets in the 1980's. Did they?

Yep, he tore down the tower, brought the white helmets back and took the names off of the Uniforms.

I cant believe this thread has made it to 5 pages?!!
Heh, 5 pages is nothing. If it weren't the weekend, this thread would have already made it to double digits in pages by now.

I would like to see an occasional black home jersy with white and red numbers. or maybe whiite road uni's with crimson sleeves and shoulders.;)
