I think we are going to get close this weekend.

Lot of discussion amongst my plant peoples here in Florida. Yes, we are getting it too. Not as bad as "up north" but for many of our tropical and even sub-tropical plants it doesn't have to get much below freezing to do a lot of damage or even cause death.

I brought some stuff in today just to be on the safe side. I don't know what I'd do if I lived further north, given my passion for tropical plants.

Good luck to all!

How do you think your coconut palms will do? Didn't you have to replant them after a cold spell?

Seasons greetings Mr. Todd!

My 3 Coconuts are very well established and quite mature now so I feel they will be fine on this particular event. My location also has some advantages in mitigating damage from freezes, so there's that.

We still have 2+ months to go in my hardiness zone (9b) until we're safe from more freeze events, so we'll see.

Me on New Year’s Day 1972 - my dad screaming “flip to Channel 42….go back to Channel 6….adjust the rabbit ears…”

We had a big outside antenna and had to go outside to turn it. Got a motor after a while. As you turned it someone inside would yell stop, no go back some, etc. The good old days.

Wish I could grow coconuts in Wewa. Lots of people there grow lemons, oranges and grapefruit. Still trying to talk my wife into retiring there. Going to start on my shed house after the first of the year. Put some solar lights up on my pole barn. Merry Christmas.
