CARY, NC – Alabama shortstop Justin Lebron was named a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award, USA Baseball announced Sunday.
Lebron is one of 25 semifinalists for the Golden Spikes, an award given annually to the top amateur baseball player in the nation. Fan voting will again play a part in the Golden Spikes Award in 2025, as fans can vote for their favorite players on GoldenSpikesAward.com, beginning today with the naming of the semifinalists. USA Baseball will announce the finalists for the award on June 4, and fan voting will once again open at GoldenSpikesAward.com before closing on June 20.
Alabama has not produced a Golden Spikes winner since Dave Magadan in 1983.

- Started all 55 games for the Tide, batting .313 (68-217) with 17 doubles, one triple and 18 home runs
- Also tallied 69 RBI and 58 runs scored to go with 31 walks during his sophomore campaign
- Produced 17 multi-RBI games, including five games in which he's managed five-plus RBI
- Lebron's 69 RBI are the most in the SEC and 15th-best in the country
- His home run total stands tied for fifth-most in the conference and 32nd among Division I players
- Recorded a team-high 141 total bases to rank fifth in the SEC and 52nd nationally
- Contributed a team-best 16 stolen bases in 17 attempts, tied for eighth-most in the league
