Keon Ellis; did he have another year of eligibility?

Trying to find if Keon had another year of eligibility? 24/7 Sports Draft tracker has him as an underclassman/declaring early. I thought he had used up his eligibility with us. I know he went thru senior night ceremonies. Anybody know the real scoop? I always liked this kid; gave great effort, played excellent defense, shot fairly well.

I believe he had an extra year of eligibility because of covid.

Thanks. I thought that might have been the case. I hate seeing these guys leave early. He and Shackleford both have a tall hill to climb to make an NBA team. Another year of development at BAMA would have helped both. RTR

I agree, I think that Keon has the best chance of making an NBA roster. Just hate to see him leave early and not get drafted. JD may make it with the Celtics but he better learn to play under control. Too many turnovers! RTR

Speaking of which, is already making waves with the Sacramento Kings. I'm really pulling for him. Just to note, a majority of the BAMA guys over the last 4 years that have made NBA rosters have really had solid success as role-players for their teams. Here's hoping Keon keeps that trend going.

John Petty Has Quiet Summer League Debut (tide1009.com)

Petty isn't likely to make the roster this year. Primo is having Solid Season and JD Davidson has a shot to make the roster through 2 way contract. JD is in good spot because Boston is real good at developing players.

Keon made his first basket last night with the Kings. He’s been back up from D League and has been getting a few minutes.

I wonder how Keon would have fit into the rotation this year? He's a #2 guard that I think played #2 and #3, but with Miller anchoring the #3 and Sears, Bradley and JQ rotating around the #2 at various times I wonder about the amount of time he'd see the floor on this year's team. He was more of a defensive specialist but this year's team from top to bottom has bought into defense so maybe his minutes wouldn't have been enough to get better this year at Bama? Just random speculation.
