Thank you to whoever updated the thread title.
The thread author has the ability to do this - so I did.

A moderator can also do it on any thread - but I'm not one of those here (yet). :)

And I agree with you Con on TP and JV.....will be interesting to see what happens on the mountain stages coming up.....

I had no idea you could change the thread title. I have never started a thread in all these years so I just assumed that the mods were the only ones who could change them. Learn something new everyday.

The mountain roads are so narrow. Are they for one way traffic or can you drive both ways? Today has been pretty good. The American Quinn set the pace all the way up the Col du Tormulet.

“Don’t tell my nutritionist,” Pogacar said of his rest‑day ride, “but we stopped at the bakery, and I had one of the best brownies I’ve ever eaten in my life.”

Brownies are unlikely to be the secret of his success, and after winning both summit finishes in the Pyrenees, at Pla d’Adet on Saturday and Plateau de Beille a day later, the Slovenian now looks almost out of reach to his closest rival, Jonas Vingegaard, of Visma Lease-a-bike. Pogacar leads by more than three minutes.

“I think we all witnessed one of the best performances on the climb ever,” he said of his win at Plateau de Beille. “When I checked my [power] numbers after, they were really crazy, the highest numbers I have ever done in my career.”

Pogacar acknowledged, however, that Vingegaard and his team had done their utmost to take back time. “They showed balls, finally, and hit hard. Hats off to them.”

Great ride by Carapaz today.
Watching Vingegaard (likely not in top fitness after earlier season crash) I find myself thinking about how much is involved in managing not just a grand tour, but the season.

It is amazing to me how the top guys just stay out of trouble. I know they do become involved in crashes sometimes, but to stay healthy and stay out of the big ones has to involve skill. Lance Armstrong (I know) stayed clear of mess for seven years straight. I can only remember him getting yanked off his bike going up a mountain that time. When he came back he crashed but not during his winning years.

Stage 19: Visma has 2 in the lead group 4 minutes ahead of the second group which contains the leaders. Pogacar has 4 teammates in his group (the second group). Last 18km are up a category 1 climb. Gotta figure this is where Vingegaard/Visma takes their last shot.

Carapaz is in the lead group, and I suspect looking to poach the stage. Be interesting to see if he tries to go before the groups meet.

Pogacar just attacked. He left Vingegaard and Evenpoel on the last climb.
