You can't really blame him

Imagine if the roles were reversed, and he was from close to Ttown

Mother went to Bama
Father went to Bama
Sibling attending Bama
Grew up a Bama Fan
He is the heir apparent, except for a redshirt year...

The other school wants him to go play in Florida where they have some upcoming QB's

Well, he chose Bama over FSU. Thanks Brodie.

Can't really blame Tebow...

Exactly - Tebow's situation is much like Brodie's was... hard to blame this kid. I think he did what many of us would have done in the same situation. When you are close with your family, they live close to the school, and you silbings attend there... it is going to be tough to break away, even if you might like a particular coach at another school a little better.

Really it is an upset that Bama stayed in the thing this closely for this long. It is a true testament to Shula's recruiting abilities. We may have lost this battle, but, such is the way of recruiting... you win some, you lose some. Perhaps next year we land a big-time recruit because he is a lifelong Bama fan. However, I do know this - if Shula continues recruiting with this same approach and tenacity, we will win more important recruting battles than we lose.

I wish Tim the best, he seems like a good kid and a good player. However, it will tough to living up to the immense expectations brought on by this whole fiasco...

Well, it looks now that our Defense will hopefully be chomping on some Tim Tebone next year. I hope we beat the Gators for the next 5 years straight. Good luck Tim...you're gonna need it. He is a fine young man and I wish him the best at Fla.

I don't see TT being in the game much next year! Leak will still be there and I don't think the urban legend will stomp on Leaks dreams two years in a row. um won't go with TT unless the games are out of hand either way. His famous S---------------O won't really come into full swing until the '07 season.......... JMO!
The only way we'll beat the gators 5 straight years is if we play them in the SECCG after next year! Which I would still consider to be very iffy, especially with the visor-kid at USC for them every year along with UThug....

He just had agreed to hold off his commit until the ESPN special.........If anyone really paid attention to the signs...........all the recruits linked to TT have either committed or leaning very soon to committing to UF. Also,I believe Hornsby said he was driving up for his little soap opera show today.I only question the effort and wasted time CMS paid 12 hr's yesterday. EGG on the face feels uncomfortable. Let's not forget the #1 target should have /hope is A Smith.I know I voted the other day TT to UF b/c it became obvious to me!

You are dead wrong about Tebow and Coach Shula wasting his time according to more than one direct quote from Tim Tebow.

Time spent recruiting is not wasted it is invested time. Think of how many recruits have dropped a school from their list because the phone quit ringing. Read what the recruits have to say about our coaches, especially the ones who are recruiting them. They are all highly respected.

This morning, Meyer gave Tebow's best friend a scholly to UF, hoping to cause a last minute change of heart, and evidently it worked.
Not sure who that is but Florida already has 21 committed, I'm not sure how many slots they have left for the post Tebow landslide. the truth of the matter is that I think if Tebow had signed with Alabama it would have made a nice impact on our recuring for us, but at Florida he's just one more 5 star recruit to throw on the stack with all that can't miss talent that Ron Zook brought in there. they still seem to have problems beating Alabama or Auburn.
