and this doesn't really fit with you "hoping" we make the playoff

My point was that a team can hope for whatever they want - that doesn't mean it will happen. Same thing to a different degree (Vandy had no real chance to beat Bama).

If we some how find a way in, I think we can get the ship tip top in 30 days and play with any team out there. IB was a wake up call, and showed us what NOT TO DO. Big if getting in, but if we do it will be fun to watch. OU can score a lot, but it all falls on their QB. Limit him and we can score on their defense. i would hope that we would win it all and i would expect that we would present ourselves very well in one or both of the playoff games were that to happen.

i'm guessing you "expected" us to lose more than 1 game this year too.

I'd rather Bama play Miami in the Orange Bowl and win big and end up 12-1 and #3 in the nation than get in and get our butt kicked by Clemson or Oklahoma, which I'm pretty certain is exactly what would happen.

I think we are definitely worthy to get in...but we need to change our approach on offense. I won’t be surprised if Georgia beats Auburn this week.

Got it, but hope and expectations go hand in hand, that's the by-product of having so much success in the past 10 years. Unless we are a 2-loss team with no outside shot, I wouldn't expect anything less than a playoff appearance

I went to Alabama, competed at Alabama (not football), have spent thousands in tickets/gear/etc on Alabama. That guy is a maroon.

If I didn't love Alabama I wouldn't have driven to another state to watch Bama play MSU and put up with those awful cowbells earlier this month.

Things Bama needs to do:
1. Get in playoff.
2. Work on fundamentals.
3. Decide what kind of offensive philosophy we want to employ for the playoff.
4. Get players healthy.
5. Call team meetings to resolve any issues that players may have with each other.
6. Win Championship.

Even if #1 doesn't happen and #6 can't, all the rest of these things is essential to our immediate AND future success!

Playing in the Orange Bowl just does not excite me at all. These games have really be rendered meaningless due to the playoff.

So you think Clemson is worse than Syracuse? And that if Syracuse and Clemson 10 times Syracuse would come out on top in the majority of those games? Clemson going 39-3 over the last few years and winning a national championship (beating Alabama in the process) means nothing because they lost a flukey Friday night game to Syracuse where their starting QB was injured?

Funny how transitive property only matters to some fans when it benefits them.
