Ty was changing play at the LOS at almost every snap. He's turning into a True field general for Alabama. He was constantly spending lot of time making changes with RBs, WRs and changing protections for OL. The fact the coaches trust him so much to do the pre-snap calls is quite incredible. Mac Jones is one I can think of that was really good at this. Guys, enjoy this. What he did against Georgia, especially on 3rd downs, How many QBs you can say in SEC that can do this especially against Georgia?

Great Point, 81!

BTW, wasn't this meant for the Football board? 😎

All of this...plus, with that crowd noise (which is what you infer "against Georgia") but it wasn't just an away game it was the noise!!!

Holly Rowe said after the game it was one of the greatest atmospheres she's ever witnessed, and considering she does this every Saturday for a few decades now, it is a testament to how difficult a job Ty had with that noise. Even on TV it sounded deafening!!!

At this point, it rivals the performance that AJ had in 2012 against LSU in the NC game, but even in that game, it was more like 60/40 LSU/BAMA crowd.

But it was more than just his decisions/audibles/progressions, but when he let it rip he was throwing "Tua like" spinning darts!

I loved the call changes at the line, but Ty being on Time, going through all of his progressions, making the right read, and pulling the trigger was next level stuff. Though I do think Grubb and company need to re evaluate the second half non productivity

3 things about 2nd half:
  1. UGA made some good defensive adjustments. A little more man, definitely more physical in the secondary (including at least 2 missed DPI calls). Played us better on the edge runs. Coupled with our run game struggles between the tackles and we got slowed down quite a bit.
  2. We also were a little more conservative in the 2nd half with the lead, plus we missed a FG. We only had one 3 and out the 2nd half, and we ate some clock.
  3. The failed 4th down attempt hurt us field position-wise for a while.
But yeah, would have been nice to put at least one more score on the board and give ourselves some breathing room.

The 4th diwn/ turnover on downs debacle hasn't really been discussed in detail. I know the miscommunication happened and Ty had no other option than to bite the bullet. The fact that Bama gave Georgia excellent field position with the game being tight had the potential for a disastrous ending for the Tide. But low and behold, the much malign defense not only stop any further damage from the miscue from occurring, but force a three and out! The stop force Georgia to punt because they were to far off to even attempt a long fg let alone think about going on 4th down since they needed 8 yards or more. Kirby knew the odds and sure didn't want Bama to regain good field position again if they fail to convert. I told my chat group that if Bama winds up winning the game, that defensive series may be the difference in the end.
