My wife won't be able to go out to the DFW Alumni game watching party with me because our nine-month-old daughter konks out at about 7:00, so the 6:00 kick-off will be too late for her. I told her I thought there were some Alabama radio stations that broadcast the games online, but can anyone tell me which stations do this?

It was great when Yahoo did this, but then they started charging you $100 to listen for the whole season. I was so mad about that, because that was before I found out about the Alumni parties, and if the game wasn't on TV, Yahoo was the only way I knew to listen to them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Here is your best option and maybe the only online radio option...

Yahoo! Alabama Football Team Broadcasts

Wump and Wjox have streaming audio but I believe they will be blacked out. I haven't found an online source for Bama games w/o paying. You might try to find a Hawaii streaming broadcast if you can stand to listen to our rivals.

Here is a list of radio stations. You might try to find a website of the station and see if they stream the game w/o blacking it out.

WUMP's Upcoming Play-by-Play Schedule lists... Saturday September 2 - NCAA Football: Alabama vs Hawaii; Pregame 1:00pm, Kickoff 6:00pm. I know they do a pregame show and it appears they may be broadcasting the game. Unfortunately they posted the following notice:

Alabama Football Internet Streaming

Online streaming of Crimson Tide Sports Network programming on 730ump.com is prohibited by The University of Alabama. This includes game play-by-play, pregame and postgame coverage, and "Hey Coach". We apologize for the inconvenience.

several years ago i actually listened to games through the website of the team we were playing. i had to listen to their schools play-by-play guys but it was worth it just to hear the game.

Okay, I searched the radio and stations and here is the list of sites that have live streaming. I don't know which ones will be blacked out, but I was presume most if not all. Just trying to help.

Re: Listening to the game on the internet

used to be able to listen to it on WUMP out of Huntsville, but I remember reading that someone tried it last year and when the game came on, the connection shut down. My guess is no, unless you're a Sirius subscriber. Sirius subscribers can listen to Sirius on the 'net.

I spent last fall in France, in a very rural part of southern France. I didn't have TV, but I had internet. I subscribed to Yahoo sports. If you only want to listen to one school's games it is (example just Alabama) then it is only $5.00 a month and if you want to listen to everyone's it is $10.00 a month. You can cancel after football season and change subscription types. You should also be able to pick up some of the other shows like Hey Coach and sometimes they even have video. There were two other Bama fans with me, we would stay up to like 2 and 3 in the morning listening to the games, it was actually a lot of fun. We never had any problems. I live in southwest Georgia now and even though I can watch the games and will make it to t-town for a few, I'll probably get yahoo sports anyway.

Why not just pay the $20 and let her watch it on tv on Gameplan? She IS your wife after all, and she IS baby-sitting for you!

WUMP has this notice up on their website.

I have looked online at Yahoo! and I can not find a Yahoo! internet broadcast of the Hawaii Alabama game from the Hawaii perspective. One of the articles from the Honolulu Advertiser stated that the game could be heard on Radio: ESPN 1420 (AM) in Hawaii. If that is the case then maybe the game can be heard on ESPN Radio elsewhere?

ncaa is alot like the nfl I think. It's hard to find a streaming game without paying. Not that I don't support Bama but I usually have to resort to the internet about twice a season so I can't see paying even with yahoo having a cheap option.

This is an attempt to suck even more money from football fans, and I am not so sure that it is directed by the NCAA. After all, there are schools out there that still allow game streaming for free...

I don't agree with the forcing of stations to stop their broadcast steam when the game comes on. This crosses the line into greed. You have to listen to the same commercials with the stream so what's the problem?
