And drew a penalty for it? Kinda strange when you consider all the histrionics that Tebow routinely gets away with.

Tim Tebow gets away with anything and everything he wants to do. The refs would not even dream or dare to throw a flag on "the chosen one". I also remember Matt Stafford and Knowshawn (sp) Moreno doing the same gesture at LSWho without the 15 yard panality that JPW got in last year's LSWho game. I ticked me off to the max.

I just wish that those type of penalties would be called evenly across the board.

:rolleyes: He offered his opinion (which you so generously gave the okay for), yet his opinion is viewed as self-righteous?
I took it the same way NYBF did.

Most people have limitless text and message these days, especially the college kids who are on the things 24/7. So it probably doesn't cost them an extra dime.

I think my point is, unless you've been on the receiving end of these pranks, it's kind of hard to know what it feels like. Trust me, it's not funny to the person on the other end.

They got the Tebow's (not just Tim's, his mom and dad's home number, too) and called them all hours of the day (and night), leaving vile and profane messages on their voice mail, etc.

I just fail to see the humor in that.

It's childish and stupid, but typical of this generation. It is harassment.

However... it is shows a lack of composure for the players to celebrate like JPW did last year. Once you do that, you prove that the fans who blew up your cell phone got to you.

And yes... it is typical of the SEC that they penalize the Alabama QB and not Tim Tebow or Moreno when they did it.

It is childish, stupid, and harassment. There is nothing worse than trying to get a decent night's sleep and the phone keeps ringing.

I will second the motion that they would call Cody. Nothing worse than aggrevating a bull elephant!

You are entitled to your opinion, but not to your self-righteous attitude. Take it someplace else...
Nothing self-righteous about my post. I'm sure it looks harmless from where you are but your phone isn't ringing 24/7 with calls from people you don't know and don't care to talk to.

As for the other post about unlimited texts, that doesn't cover your actual minutes. All you have to do is answer the phone and most carriers will charge you one minute. If 1,000 Arcadians have your cell phone number and call you just 3 times a day it can really add up. Either way its a major inconvenience for these players and I think something needs to be done. Its one thing to harass the players during the game, its another to harass them the entire week before the game.

I still don't understand how these people get the cell phone numbers unless someone close to the player /victim gives it up.

Reminds me of an old story about Georgia fans I believe. Apparently the GA fans found out what hotel the team was staying in and showed up in the middle of the night with horns honking and lights shining in the windows of the rooms. Coach Bryant had to have the boys take their mattresses out into the hallways to sleep. Am I telling the story right? Anyone else remember this?

I remember the same story... perhaps in one of the many books about Coach Bryant. I believe you've got it right.

Here's a plan to counter their little game. There is a scam were the number you dial is an international number and they charge like $30/min. If someone could find these scam phone numbers and release them as our players numbers that would be hilarious. Could you imagine the looks on their faces when the get hit by a $900 phone bill.

Could you forward your calls to that number? That would be priceless.

If they don't hide their number when calling, you could just sign them up for those ringtone commercials that they show all the time. Make sure you sign them up for the Yea Alabama ringtone. :biggrin2:

But seriously, LSU fans should greaux up.

It's also now, OLD. Get some more creative originality. The first cat to pull it off, props. Woo hoo, stop the rinse and repeat cycle already.:cool2:

This from a former LA resident and LSU season ticket holder, no Crimson glasses, just reality checkin' ya! ;)
