That is not hatred. That is respect. If Bama were never a football team, LSU would probably have 50% more titles. During the 60's and 70's, Bama was a very strong college football program. There is a tremendous amount of respect, and I include Bama's record all the time when I have discussions about which conference has always been the toughest.

LSU is going through a Bama-like period, and we are loving it. We have a very solid program. Hating LSU in the NC is surprising to me because I feel quite the opposite about Bama. Sure, I will say ungodly awful things about Bama when we play them, but that is no different than any other school. That's just the way it is. I hope all the SEC schools roll in their nonconference matchups just to prove a point.

Here's another interesting one. If the arguement is that LSU is winning with Saban's recruits, why wouldn't all Bama fans want to see LSU roll strongly this year, even if they pull for them to fall flat on their face next year?

I know I'm in the minority here but after the way SEC teams acted when we were getting hit with "still to this day, un-substantiated violations" there is no way I will ever pull for any other SEC team but Bama. As far as I am concerened we are the SEC, all by ourself.

If, by some chance, a few SEC teams play sleuth and try to get LSU the death penalty, and LSU ends up getting near the death penalty, get back with us, and give us your opinion, then.

Oh good Lord! I'm going to close this one also. To the LSU guys - the reaction by the Bama fans is almost entirely owing to the hostility flung at Bama and Saban in the wake of his hiring. You can't really expect all that to be forgotten, so I completely understand the feelings of those who aren't kindly disposed towards LSU at this point. And MSU was not the only school turning in Bama for nit-picky violations last year. LSU was prominent in that group. All that said, I'm one of the ones who pull for the SEC, because I'm not afraid to compete with LSU and the rivalry helps our SOS. Now, let's try for another, cleaner thread...
