Keith, you might consider hanging around a little, maybe post a few followups to the comments your post generates.

It's a great crowd here, one that knows it's football.

I think it is high praise for Tidefans that Keith Dunnavant would come on board. He is a very fine writer.

I loved the article and must be getting old because I remember yelling and rooting for Ogilvie.

Major was always one of my favorites, too. I started covering Bama when he was a junior and will also remember what a class act he was.

Keith, I forgot to say how much I enjoy your stories. Major played when I was down there, what great times. I'm so tickled the younger Bama fans are getting a taste of that level of championship play these days.

And what a neat twist that all those years later Bama had a coach from the state of Texas who was named for Major. :)

Ha Ha

The first time I heard of Major Ogilvie was when the Olan Mills photographer was taking school pictures and called me that. It was such a funny name it made me smile.

Musso was my favorite...I knew his family and thought he was the greatest running back ever. However, I think my vote has changed To MI and TR, with NO disrespect to Johnny as he still holds a special place in ny heart.
