Mal asks SEC to review scheduling of future bye weeks

This proves what Coach Saban has said has come to pass. Make it where they don't want to play us again. They don't want to anymore but they have to since we are in the same conference. The only way they can cope with it is schedule a bye before us. That shows how badly we are feared in the conference now.

This has been going on for a long time...

I have not sat and thought about this but the first thing that pops into my head is why not every team in the SEC not play on lets say the last weekend in October.

What say you?

RTR

If Kramer was still commissioner he would be furious to know that six SEC teams had bye weeks prior to playing Bama.

I can see him now chewing out the scheduler:

"SIX SEC teams are off prior to playing Bama! SIX! Doesn't Bama play 8 SEC teams a year. What's the matter with you?" :)

Teams play a twelve game regular season now.

I don't know that teams always got two off weeks during the season, but that was the case just a few years ago. It was not that long ago either.

I thought it was about the '06 or '07 seasons when Bama had 2 weeks off. I don't know, but it wasn't that many seasons ago.

I also goes to show you that Slive is not our friend. I assumed that he would be more even handed than Kramer (who hated Bama), and he seems to be in so many ways, but this is absurd...

You forgot Bill Curry. Only reason he liked calling our games was so he could talk about when he was coach at Alabama.

I have to disagree with having Kirk Herbstreet and Mark May on that list. BTW you forgot Paul Finebaum ;)

Oh please. He makes one opinionated remark and he is the devil? What about the one he made earlier?

"I love (quarterback Greg McElroy). I think Greg McElroy will be one of the big surprises in the SEC this year. I think, as a junior, he has enough experience, just being around the program, being around John Parker (Wilson), being around (offensive coordinator) Jim McElwain to understand what this offense is about. ... I think he's going to have a huge year."

I think Salsa Boy and Mark May have shown Bama quite a bit of love over the years.

I agree - even when we were down, they didn't throw the ugly stuff back in our faces at every opportunity like most did...

Mark May DOES hate Notre Dame though. But that is probably just to spite Granny Holtz. Definitely provides some great comedy on Saturdays in the fall.

yea, this is a bunch of crap!!! 3 teams had a bye before they played us this year....but 6?????!!!! come on!!! ***???? if we end up having this play out....we deserve 2 or 3 bye weeks then!
