This is funny.
DARP (the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) was looking into how to incorporate AI into ground combat. They developed and fielded an AI-enabled combat ground-mobile sensor to make the soldiers more effective.
First DARPA had to train the sensor vehicle to recognize soldiers doing soldier things in the field, so they asked for and got a squad of Marines for a week, and took them to the field so the sensor could watch as software engineers explained to the sensor what it was looking at.
On the seventh day came the test. The sensor was on one side and the squad of Marines on the other, 1,000 yards away. The squad's task was to approach the sensor undetected and touch it. The results were hilarious.
Credit the Marines for being creative.
