No reasonable person can actually say that being trans is a contributing factor in mass shootings. Based on the details in his manifesto that have been released so far, this murderer certainly seemed to be deranged, but what evidence is there that identifying as trans had anything to do with it? The bigotry and hated exhibited by the right toward this tiny population of people is hard to fathom.

Bigotry and hatred? None of that here - I'm just posting facts. I happen to believe trans is a mental illness, but I've zero hatred for them - I simply wish they had the institutional care they need.
I know that's a rhetorical question.
Don't want to jump to any conclusions.
But maybe if he/she hadn't been bullied - this wouldn't have happened.
We'll have to see what is reported - and even then there will be varied opinions, naturally.

Not you, CA. Gays Against Groomers is a noted right-wing anti-trans hate group.
I believe that any mental illness related to being trans overwhelmingly comes from the societal hardships encountered by those who identity as such. That being said, there’s still no evidence that sexual identity was the primary factor in this atrocity. This person was obsessed with mass murderers, guns, violence, and killing. Being trans is not a contributing factor to any of that.

Was not aware of this - I don’t follow them on X, this came up when I searched the murderer’s name. Thanks for the heads up.
We really don’t know, that’s the issue.
Hopefully we’ll know more going forward, but regardless of my personal beliefs, anyone who shoots people like this is obviously mentally ill. We as a country need to get to the place where we treat people like this before they snap and murder innocents.
Gays Against Groomers is neither right wing nor a hate group. They are a couple of gay people who recognize the existential threat the grooming kid-diddlers represent to gays everywhere and they are punching back. They don't want to be lumped in with MAPs and other left-wing freaks who have no idea what boundaries are.

I just wanted to share wisdom. I wanted to show people what builds up in me — as competition, as a challenge. I thought I could explain, show the path, but each time it breaks off — and chaos begins again.

I think that all of this is a stage, and the people around are actors. They play roles without even realizing it. Their laughter, their words, their masks — all of it is a performance, where I am at times a spectator, at times a participant.
Sometimes I want to destroy this scenery, to tear apart the fabric of reality. Sometimes I want simply to shout — and let everyone know that it is a lie, that it is a game. But then I again go into my thoughts, again write, again laugh, and again hide.
My fantasies save me. They are my shield and my weapon. I laugh when everything falls apart. I invent when everything seems empty.
And maybe this is my strength: to turn chaos into a joke, to turn pain into words.
